I was researching something and found a site that lists replicas of places used in the movies. Did you ever watch these movies? The characters were actually taken from a famous book written by Lucy Maud Montgomery in 1908. There are such places as the Avonlea village, the Green Gables house, as well as Dalvay-by-the-sea Country Inn and Restaurant, Orwell Corner, Orwell Corner Historic Village Stanhope-by the-Sea that were used in part for scenes in filming the movies. You can go and visit these places. They are located in Prince Edward Island in Canada. Here is the link:

Yes, that would be interesting. I want to go to the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island where scenes in Somewhere in Time were filmed.

@Marcyaz ...They may have it on again. They usually have it on during that time when they are asking for money. Or they did a few of years back.

I loved these books as a child and then I read them again as an adult - and still enjoyed them!

@celticeagle My perspective was different as an adult and I understood stuff that a child would not have grasped. I went to Concorde, New England and visited the family home of the March sisters in Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. It was amazing - still the drawings on the walls by the youngest daughter who was so talented as an artist.

@poehere ... I wouldn't know how to do that. Amazon has the kindle form too. They also sell DVDs and all manner of things. And have some great prices. I use my Amazon gift cards. I can get a book for .01 and get it sent to me for $3.99. The kindle format can be pretty cheap for older books and we could probably find a free or cheap download of that.

@celticeagle Thanks I'll check it out. Mostly on Amazon you buy the book and they mail them to you. I was sort of thinking more on the lines of Kindle or something like this so I can download it and read it on my tablet or computer. Thanks for the suggestion I'll check into it.
