Have you ever been tempted to take a dangerous selfie?

It has been revealed that more people have died this year when taking selfie photographs than have done so as a result of being attacked by a shark - 12 as opposed to 8.
The selfie fatalities have included two who died in Russia when removing a pin from a hand grenade and an American who managed to shoot himself in the neck while handling both gun and smartphone at the same time.
The most obvious risk is taking a selfie at a dangerous location, such as a cliff edge or rooftop.
Another popular endeavour is to take the selfie with a wild animal in the background. Park rangers in Colorado have been forced to ban this activity due to too many instances of bears getting themselves into perfect focus!
I don't own a smartphone, so the urge to take a selfie under any circumstances is easily resisted!
What about you?

LOL @ Anna! I have this friend who must take numerous through the day. -and i'm not joking, her selfies are identical, save for the clothes she's wearing. Maybe because she can only take them from a certain angle. It just looks stupid!

I think people that are not aware of their surroundings are stupid and as a result this is what happens. RIP all people who were engrossed in taking selfies.

I agree @OceanTiara ......it's sad, but they all seem to fail to engage some common sense when they're totally engrossed in taking selfies!

I don't do selfie but sometimes, whenever I am sitting and nothing to do, I make a selfie but it is not in a dangerous area, only in my seat. What I've done so far are making selfie while waiting for the bus at a terminal, while riding on a ferry, and other activities where I am sitting. Just to overcome boredom while waiting for something.

I'm not vain enough to be tempted to take selfies at all, let alone dangerous ones

@arthurchappell.....I've always said selfie lovers are more vain than the average person. I think some of them also have a touch of the narcissistic, if you think about it LOL

I was reading an article about that as well. It's sad what people will do just to get a picture, I can see someone hiking and taking a picture then falling. I had a friend climb to steep waterfall (if you fell you would certainly die), and taking pictures.

I don't have a cell phone of any kind. I think people like to take risks and that is a real problem. Remember bungee jumping?

Well, I can't even take a regular selfie for starters LOL But sometimes when I hear of these incidents, I despair! All for the love of selfies!

I'm not even tempted to take a selfie, let alone a dangerous selfie. I like avatars.

I may do a couple of selfies only in funny moments, not in risky situations
