We Never See The Whole Thing

I turned to The Man today and said "You know, neither one of us ever sees a wh ole television show". He just chuckled. But it's true. He usually falls asleep a few times during the show, and I am usually looking down at my knitting or crocheting. If he's awake and I am not doing some other project, then I fall asleep. Sometimes, neither one of us knows whodunit. It would work out alright if we each saw different parts or missed different parts. I am now looking at things we liked and already watched, wondering if we should watch them again to see what really happened. Do you do other things while watching TV? Do you do crafts, knit, read, play games on your phone, text or nap?

The Man often turns on documentaries and they can lull you to sleep. I am on the computer so I don't fall asleep and I learn a lot by listening, lol.

I don't do anything other than watch whatever we're watching. Sometimes I'll turn to my husband and ask him if he's sleeping, which wakes him up and prompts him to tell me he was JUST resting. Right!

I feel bad if The Man falls asleep during something he really wanted to watch, and I might try to make a little noise so he will wake up and see the important bits.

@DianneN Well, I suppose it's good that I am nice to at least one person.

@Rollo1 You are too nice to him! I will guarantee you that my hubby will be awake all night tonight, no matter the outcome of tonight's baseball game.

It's easy to get a lot done, but you can't look at the knitting and the TV at the same time. I see now why my grandmother was able to crochet a whole lace tablecloth. You didn't have to look at radio.

There is a one hour show on Sunday evening that we both watch without doing anything else. Its our favorite show, otherwise, he falls asleep and I do what I'm doing currently, online stuff.

@Rollo1 I don't care for most shows on the air today, I just cannot relate to them-there's some old age for ya! But Heartland is our favorite show and we never multi-task while its on.

There's not much on the TV that I really want to watch, but my man has it on nearly all the time. He doesn't often fall asleep watching it, and I'm usually on my laptop. That's funny about you and your man, it would be great if you could schedule yourselves to watch different parts and then fill each other in.

Neither of us watches it all day, just now and then. Mostly we watch together at night, after 8pm. And maybe we just wait until we're tired to try to watch a show.

I rarely get distracted, unless of course someone knocks on the door. Nevertheless, many of the shows are not worth watching the whole way through.

@Rollo1 These days I have learned to avoid the really popular series because they are often the most abysmal.

Sometimes a series looks good or gets very popular, so we give it a try . I cannot tell you the number of very popular series we never watched more than one episode of. They make some very poor quality shows these days.

I munch away and that does not disturb me from what I am watching

If I munch it distracts me from knitting.

NO, when we sit down to watch TV, that is about one hour around 9:00 pm, we do nothing, but watch TV.

@Rollo1 Evening it's the only time of the day we sit and watch TV, most of the time we both feel sleepy after no more than one hour we sit there. It's a sort of routine, no matter at which hour of the evening we sit there, it is for more or less one hour.

I watch everything later, through the Roku. But even though we sit down and choose a program and get all set to watch it, we still fall asleep.

Very like my dearly beloved & me, most of the time! Ha! Ha! Ha! And if we are awake while viewing a show/movie on tv, you'll find us also busy with our cellphones; he with his freecell or solitaire; me with myLot!

Sometimes I actually want to fall asleep, sometimes it's nice to doze in front of the TV. I hate it when it happens during something I actually wanted to see, though.
