I was working in the sales department, in fact coaching would be sales professionals for a short period of time .In my personal opinion, making people aware of all he facts rather than hiding any aspect is very essential so also a first hand thorough knowledge of your organization so that you are in command. Never over do anything because it becomes counter productive,A knowledgeable , confident person does not need to pursue ..

Never over do anything because it becomes counter productive, can you elaborate with an example?

@kirtibhaia06 Well I will have to rake my brain to think of an example but I can tell you that there is no standard procedure with regard to persuasion and negotiation , it very much depends on your own personality and how well equipped you are.It is best to present your case once and let the other side digest that and only when you see a positive signal you should take it further ..

Correct me if I am wrong, we all negotiate when we sit for 1of with our boss and beg for higher scores you share your data, achievements and as soon as you get the same ration what you expected. You mission accomplished thus states that you have good negotiation skills.

In Bollywood Movie 3 idiots Amir gave demo to explain the situation to Karina. Here I can give you a very realistic example of negotiation. First thing to remember is negotiations don't mean saving or earning money.
Eg. Lets take an example that you are travelling by bus and you don't have reserved seat. But you see a man sitting with his wife in the very first row. What will you do so that male passenger will offer his seat to you. Now its up to you, the moment you beg for the seat. this clearly states that you are on the right track and can negotiate.
