I was given a share in a house site by my mother a few years back, which has steadily grown in value and although it is still in our possession , it would fetch a lot of money even when it is shared between the three of us siblings ..

Recently I was given a gift of 6000 INR (1 dollar = 60 INR). For no good reason. I didn't know how to accept it. People should not be giving such expensive gifts.

Last year my parents gave me life membership to the National Trust (the UK's big heritage organisation/charity). It might not be the most generous gift I've had (my husband spoils me) but it was certainly the most unexpected and cost them around £1600.

@swissheart It means that you can enter all their stately homes, museums and gardens free for life with one guest.

Wow! Generous parents ! Lol. Me, the most expensive gift I received was a watch. I still keep it with me until now though it stopped working already.

@swissheart I did that already. Actually, it's the second time my watch stopped working. Also, I'm currently using a watch given by my husband.
