Halloween And Christmas Displays At The Same Time

Yesterday I went shopping to the big mall. I was very upset to see Halloween and Christmas displays together.
The Halloween stuff has been displayed for more than 1 month already and now we are bombarded with Christmas items all over the plaza.
The merchants are so eager to be the first ones to get our dollar that they are all competing
who is going to win on this front.
To me, it's more a turn off than an incentive to buy.

you would think they would be keen to clear the Halloween stock first. After all it will be redundant in just over a fortnight.

I don't know why they can't just wait, but they can't. I still say "Keep Christmas in December".

It seems like the merchants start earlier every year. I know they are trying to make money, but they aren't going to sell any more or any less than if they would just wait and put out the decorations. As far as Halloween is concerned, that is one day, that I can do without completely.as I don't like the day, and I never have. Christmas decorations shouldn't be put out until after Thanksgiving, at least that is the way I feel anyway.

It's sickening, isn't it? It's been that way here too. I just could not believe how the Halloween stuff had been on sale since earlier last month - it wasn't even October yet! I feel like some of the magic of the holidays is gone by the time we get to that special day - we "see" it far too in advance!!

I am sure the Hallowee stuff would be sold cheaper as the event is over. You can buy them and keep them for next year.

Same here in the States. THey feed off of the people who WILL partake and get useless or not needed items because it's "cheap" and "pretty".

That leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I think they can sell Christmas-related items but make sure not to put it together in the same area/shelf. It looks like a desperate move to me. "Hey, wanna shop for the Halloween? Buy something for Christmas, too!"

I really wish that they wouldn't overlap the holidays. Gee it's crazy to see both Halloween & Christmas out at the same time

Its the only time when the market is ready for poor traders. Its there festive time till before 1 month of christmas as people buy everything as soon as possible. Happy christmas to you my dear friend.

Its the same all over. The dollar stores and those types seem to have all holiday decorations/food/etc from Halloween right thru to Valentines day already on the shelves.
