Crimson Peak: a review

The reviews for Crimson Peak had been favourable, and so the film we might go and see became the film we definitely would go and see.
And so we went.
It's an interesting film. I didn't 'love' it, but it held my attention amazingly well. My mind is capable of wandering off to Fantasy Land, What Shall We Have For Dinner Street, and D'oh! It Would Have Been Far Funnier If I'd Said That Square when I'm not fully engrossed in whatever I happen to be doing. At one moment I did wander far enough to think 'Oh, I'm not thinking of anything but what's going on in the film' and then promptly returned to it.
It had suspense, psychotic siblings, beautiful dresses, crimson snow, Burn Gorman, haunted houses, mystery, secrets, romance, murder, heroic actions and regret. And weird ghosts.
Tom Hiddleston was a lost soul, Mia Wasikowska was delightfully charming and strong-willed and Jessica Chastain was creepily demented. Until tonight I wasn't even aware that Charlie Hunnam {ouch, that had to hurt} is the young man {schoolboy} who gets to sleep with Aidan Gillen in Queen as Folk.
Mia, please will you stop reminding me of Claire Danes. It truly irks me.
Tonight I will dream pleasant dreams of waltzing with Tom. Yum.

Have you read the novel adaptation? I fell inlove with this movie and this was the first time I cried in a horror movie. The movie wasn't scary at all. I would love to buy the book too but it's not available in our country. Need to buy it in Amazon. I love Lucille even if she was the villain. I feel sad for her as I think she really suffered a lot when she was young.
