Do you buy smartphones made by companies based in China?

Many China companies are making and selling smart phones. These smart phones are selling at a lower price, but the quality is not that bad. Do you buy smartphones made by companies based in China, such as Xiaomi or Huawei? When I search for information about both companies, I can see that both companies are extremely profitable, and many investors, including large sovereign funds, are investing in it. I wonder how Apple is going to manage such stiff competition.

Actually I am using redmi 2 prime of Xiaomi itself. And honestly saying quality and all other way it is superb phone. They are selling all these phones in really cheap price, but I must say they are providing quality stuff. They are not ignoring quality at all. So yes they are giving really hard competition to all other company. In fact as far as I have heard Xiaomi is doing really good in all over the world. About apple, I guess they have totally different fan following. Most of the people who are using IOS are not interested in Android OS at all. I am not talking about everyone.

Many telcos let the customers have free Xiaomi phone for signing up 2 years contract. That is another reason for the popularity of Xiaomi phone. I think no matter how much the customers love Apple phones, when it comes to price, they still will go for free phone that works just as well.

@scheng1 That is true. Apple is having fan following. But we have really big group of people who just love to go for good budget phones. And these Chinese companies are really providing cheap phones with really great specifications. So of course they will going to get lime light.

I have a Lenovo and Huawei both came from China tab and cel. They work just fine for me. The brand is what's being sold right now not really the unit per se. Apple has a name that's why it is at a higher cost. but they do function pretty well and friendly user too

I think some of the Apple users just want to show off their phone. I think for most of the users, having Huawei and Lenovo is good enough for their usage. Xiaomi is still a very new and very young company, yet they are expanding rapidly because the phone is really good.

Apple will manage because we don't like to buy anything from China because it is not as good as other products. Even clothes fall apart and are not made well, another thing no one should buy from there is pets toys or food as they are not well made and could harm are pets. You asked and this is my honest opinion.

I've never used China smartphones, but I don't think they're that bad. I know it's hard to trust things from China, but if they're branded, then it should be okay. If you don't trust it, you can look up reviews online before buying.

I wouldn't care about any reviews as anyone can write them.

There are so many smartphones in Singapore, and sometimes it is hard to know what is good for what. I think the choice for many people is due to the fact that the smartphone comes free when you sign up for 2 years contract. I think cost is still one of the most important factors.

Wow, good to hear that. i think consumers are really in heaven with so many great phones selling at dirt cheap price. it will force the smart phone manufacturers to work hard to make cheaper and better phones for all of us.
