I like too.
What makes Mahatama Gandhi an important man is the fact that he brought about the independence of India through a non-violent resistance movement. Many leaders have learned of the benefits of his methods and have used them in their political struggles. For example, Martin Luther King was inspired by Gandhi to lead non-violent protests, in America, against discrimination. Gandhi also spent most of his older years writing to leaders of other nations to stop their violent ways of conflict. Adolf Hitler was one of the leaders he wrote. Unfortunately, many of the leaders did not think that Gandhi's methods were beneficial.
The following is a quote from Gandhi that describes his view on non-violent resistance :
"A non-violent revolution is not a program of 'seizure of power', but it is a program of transformation of relationships." (Bandyopadhyaya,1969,p23)

Yes, he was a fabulous leader and a peaceful revolutionary, which is so unusual. He did amazing things for India and the world in a beautiful way, inspired by love. He also inspired other leaders, including Martin Luther King, Jr. in the United States, who made great leaps in the civil rights movement based on nonviolent resistance.
