Good Morning

Good morning World, it's Sunday,, a day that is traditionally a day of rest. It doesn't seem that long ago that Sunday meant a day off work, with the shops shut for the day. Sunday used to be a day to spend with your family. Not any more.
While there were always people that worked on a Sunday, mostly in the leisure industry, there didn't seem to be the pressure to work on Sunday if you didn't want to. In fact where I lived when I was 14 the majority of the staff in cafes, etc were Saturday/Sunday girls/boys. 14 and 15 year olds who chose to get work permits from school and work at the weekends to put money in their pockets.
The point is, I suppose, that Himself is working today and has worked the last three Sundays, having no choice in the matter, even though there was an agreement he's only work a maximum of one Sunday a month. And while I loved having home yesterday, I just want to enjoy another family Sunday.

Sandra ...... I hate this Sunday opening hours and I believe it should be stopped ....... I am disabled so not able to work but I feel for the People who do have to work as you say Sunday used to be Family time but now all People do is work work and work, there is no more Family time and rest Children hardly see their Parents, Employers don't care about People who have Family ....Children turn the wrong way because Parents having got the time any more to spend with them Marriages fall apart because Husband and Wife don't get time together any more

It does annoy me that he's the only one who works there with young children and yet seems to be the only one that gets so many Sundays. A girl that works there claims she can't do Sundays because she lives a couple of miles away and the buses only start running after 8am. But we're 12 miles away with buses every 2hours and the first at 8.30am.....

See if he wanted to work the Sundays then it wouldn't be so bad, but he would much rather work during the week and spend the weekend with the boys especially as public transport is a bit hit and miss on a Sunday with there only being a bus every 2 hours which means he spends almost as much time travelling as he does working

My husband works every second weekend. You just get used to it. I enjoy the 'us' weekends and the 'me' weekends.
