why child mairrages are not stopping?

every child is special.both boy and girl are gifts of god.but why girl child mairrages especially in india are still done in many villages.
thanks to balika vadhu serial in hindi.an eye opener for many people across the world showing the countereffects of child mairrage.
this is also one of the major problems of many countries.when the girl has the age of studing,enjoying and exploring life,they are forcefully rushed to these things.
it damages both the physical and mental wellbeing of a child.any comments.

The reason they are not stopping is girls are perceived as risky to be kept in home because of the responsibility. Once they are married the responsibility lies with the husband or so it is believed. So parents of the girl are in a rush to get them out. The second reason is as a grown up the girl will understand the finances better, and then may ask for rights or keep returning for better standard of living. The only way to stop them is to have better laws for women.
