but I just did. You can disagree with my opinion on matters and that is fine. But do not ever be flat out rude or try to be funny to hurt me in some way. I took that kind of crap in middle school and high school. I don't need to be bullied online too. Some people will never grow up and it is is such a shame.

Aw youy're very kind. I didn't feel the need to report the person. They weren't badgering me. They were just a bit rude and hurtful and I don't need that in my life, so moving on

I had to go back and read your posts to see the offending comment. I don't think I see all the new discussions! I notice that I miss some completely from certain people. But that wasn't the point. I have seen that particular person and the only thing I can say is that I don't think they understand what they read at all. The comment certainly doesn't sound very nice, I don't know what was meant. Whether they meant to be rude or not, I don't think it's a great loss to block someone who can't understand what you write. You have to do what makes your experience on the site better for you.

I want to say that it could just be a misunderstanding based on imperfect mastery of the English language, but it came across as a very hurtful remark. I personally would have asked the user if they meant to be that rude and given them a chance to backtrack. That doesn't mean that your way of handling it is wrong, though! I've just experienced a few instances where users were mortified when they realized that something they had said was taken completely differently than they had meant it. If comments are really bad, you can delete them yourself as long as they're under a discussion you started or a response you posted. In other instances, if they cross the line into guideline violation territory, you can let Alex know and he'll take care of it for you.

Thank you, but it didn't come to that. I just simply am choosing not to associate with that person and move on. You could be right about it taken out of context, but it seemed very rude to me, like that person was making fun of me. But it's ok. Lots of other nice people around here and one incident won't make me leave lol.

I completely agree, I can understand that people disagree on something we write, but I do not accept rude or vulgar comments.

I'm sorry that you felt the need to use the block button, but can you really completely blame the person commenting? Whenever we are offended by someone's comment it is because we are allowing that person to offend us. If you do not give their comments the power to offend you then you will no longer be bullied like you were in middle school and high school. You will eventually have to learn that the only way you are going to feel secure about yourself is if YOU change and not hope that the world around you changes. There are ALWAYS going to be trolls out there, and you won't always be able to block them. The best thing you can do is learn to deal. My 2 cents.

I agree with what you said, but I don't feel I have to change myself. I just can choose to ignore the said person who was rude to me. The End.
