Here it comes the time of the year for ghostly tales from the past.
If you are traveling through England you should not miss to visit the Newton House, in Llandeilo (Wales).
The Newton House is haunted by the aristocratic Lady Elinor Cavendish, also known as the white lady.
According to the tales, she had been forced to marry a man that she did not love but she refused. The man chased her through the Newton Castle and murdered her by strangulation.
Since then the ghost of the white lady walks the building.
Some visitors, reported that they had the feeling of hands holding their neck, while inside the house.
Would you like to visit this place on the Halloween night?

I had a great time writing an article on hotels with a 'ghost' background. The requester wanted 5 such famous hotels in the UK. I was paid for that article.

I love investigating old houses and locations that had reports of ghosts, I am actually working on my PHD in Parapsychology and Metaphysics. I love all things creepy. I am a sceptic, I do not believe that they are "real", but I love to study how people perceive ghosts and hauntings.
From my experience, pubs have the best spirits!

@destry Someone (a shadow?) in my bed, he moved, he stretched, I thought it was my husband, then my husband came in through the door. I was home alone, I had a dream, my deceased granny wanted to give me lottery numbers, she understood I was scared, she said, I am going to write them on the wall, I screamed, in the morning I found two numbers on the wall... I missed the other four. I have other stories.

Sadly I live in the US and I don't think I'll ever get the chance to travel over there but there are a great number of haunted locations in the UK that I would love to visit.

@sbttw2003 The UK is famous for the ancient castles and manor haunted by ghosts, but many European places are old enough to be pretty spooky.

@Rosekitty Good, bring the brownies, we can try to offer them to the white lady and have the life saved.

I would love to visit a place like that! Stories like that really fascinate me, and old haunted places seem to pique my interest quite a bit. I'm not one of those "ghost hunter" types, but I would love to spend the night in an actual haunted house!

@moffittjc I agree, even if nothing happens, you feel that something could happen in those old mansions. The air is always cold and humid and every shadow or light make your heart beat accelerate a bit.

@LadyDuck I agree with you on that! Plus, fake haunted houses often use "in your face" scare tactics, wherein in "real" haunted houses it is often very subtle. Not everyone who spends time in the "real" haunted places encounters a ghostly experience. I like the fact that if I go to places like that, I may or may not encounter something. Often, it's the anticipation of something happening that provides the genuine "fear" experience, if that makes any sense.

I love ghost stories like that. On Halloween, I just enjoy answering the door for Trick or Treaters. I may do that at my daughter's house this year!

I like the idea of small parties better than Trick or Treating. Much nicer.

I enjoyed the 'trick or treat' dressing up my kids (who are grown ups now) and giving to those who knock. Halloween is a fun time with the kids.

@Cdjran2015 This is the reason why they have nothing to fear, we cannot hurt them, but they can hurt us.

@LadyDuck Not good that they scares you. Why not challenge yourself to face them. You will found out that they will have fear too. Remember we are human and they are just spirit.

@Cdjran2015 Yes, I have seen "presences", they are not all bad spirits.

That mean @LadyDuck you already see ghost and not all can give you fear.

@enlightenedpsych2 But I believe in ghosts and I know that some of them are evil spirits searching for revenge.
