In Public in Pajamas?

October 19, 2015 9:31am CST
The last two Mondays I have felt like one of this horrible Walmart photos that come across my screen. My thirteen year old son has to be at a class three hours before the rest of us at a place less than 5 minutes from my house. Instead of readying myself completely, I've fallen into the lazy habit of throwing a big sweatshirt on over my pajamas, skipping the step of a bra completely, and throwing on some flip flops. I figure I'm only going to be in the van where no one will see my attire. I must admit I have this fear of a flat tire or a broken down engine which would require me to get out of my vehicle. Part of me feels a bit like a rebel though skipping that whole getting dressed thing.

I'm rarely self-conscious of my attire - jeans and tee shirt tend to be my default setting most days

lol I think most of us have done something similar in a similar situation and prayed not to get stopped by the police or a flat tire. My mothers voice is always in my head about the hospital and underwear!!

I have run out in pj's and slippers so many times it's not even funny. When I was pregnant with the twins and shortly after their birth I lived in pj's and never got dressed. So now I just really don't care... pj's it is, even if someone will see me! But I never go bra-less.. the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is throw on my bra and put my hair in a pony tail... then I crawl out of bed.

I would not be brave enough to do it like this as one never knows what could happen.

with the sweatshirt, it wouldn't be TOO terrible to have to walk in public. :-)

There are some days when a person just says, if I can get away with the whole rigmarole of dressing up, then yipee. I have those days too. :-)

As long as you are inside the van it matter little I hope. But your fears of the need to get out is justified

Like @arthurchappell I am not that conscious on my attire. But of course if there is a special occasion, I take an extra mile to dress properly. :)
