Groceries is my families biggest bill. Our food bill is way higher than our mortgage. We are a family of four and spend at least $500 a month on food. How is your grocery bill? Does anybody have any tips?

@simpleliving3251120 Amy, go price shopping and find the cheapest store to shop at for groceries. I go once a week and my bills vary and I also pay in shekels and not dollars.

There are tons of tips on how to save on food, like shop only the sales, cook everything from scratch, use all your leftovers, etc. I spend anywhere from $100 to $150 a month, but I live alone. I feed family at least once a week, though, and I eat mostly organic due to health problems.

You mean your monthly mortgage payment is less than that! My goodness, the cost of living over in your place must be very low. Today my friend told me that her monthly mortgage is over $3,000, and that is still considered low because she has paid a large downpayment.
