Stormy weekend made it difficult to myLot

Typhoon Lando is about to leave the country. In his departure, he took 3 lives and affected over 200,000 families who either had to evacuate or who lost their homes. We live in a country that is second in the list of countries that experience the most natural disasters. I think it's better, though, since the casualties are low compared to previous storms including Yolanda. We are learning, we are using technology, and we are helping each other deal with it. Still, it affected my myLot activity. The internet connection was bad and was only able to leave one comment despite several attempts. And so I'm catching up...

We are learning, we are using technology, and we are helping each other deal with it. -- yes, i so agree and hope we, as a people, keep improving. we hardly felt the typhoon here, to be honest. last night was the coldest, though, yet we woke up to a hot and sunny day today.

Let's keep improving! It wasn't as bad in Manila. I've experienced worse. The north though, wasn't spared.

Your country is very unlucky to experience so much of this sort of thing. I'm glad that there was not so much loss of life this time.

Yes we are. On most months it's like paradise around here but hell on few occasions. We are learning from our past mistakes, a good sign.

terrible for those who have lost lives and homes though fortunate that it was less deadly than previous storms.

@Beatburn you can't avoid nature - improved warning systems and shelters and recovery rescue provision is all you can aim for

If we could only avoid such things. Or at least reduce the possibility. We still need a lot of work to do as a nation.

Yes the loss of property and life can be traumatizing. Can we really avoid such during calamities? I wonder.

Not really. Just howling winds and puddles here and there. I live in the busy, traffic-infested, polluted, capital.

Right now my internet connection is intermittent because of the ceaseless rains. I am glad that we have had power throughout all these rains.
