"Look not for job satisfaction, competent colleagues and compassionate bosses. They're not always available. Look instead for money, for it is always there." Do you agree?

Money is a good motivation but alot of times, good money is hard to come by. I would love to have a combination of all factors. Competent colleagues is always good. I hate to work with people who thought they are really smart but I was never able to make sense of anything they say. Good bosses are the best motivation for me to stay in a certain company. I used to work for one such boss. He would send me to church when I'm late for evening service, work with me on my UNICEF projects over the weekends (its not even part of work...it's my volunteer project), listens when I talk (some bosses hears but don't listen), ask about my family...etc. In return, I help to babysit his kids when he got to go back to work on weekends, liaise with his wife on his laundry and household matters. His wife buys my Christmas and birthday gifts and he is one boss who took the effort to know what I needed and like. I never miss a gathering when he comes back to Singapore to visit us. It's been a good 18 years and we are still in contact!

Why in the world did you quit that company then? Haha. On a more serious note, I myself am not interested in earning bucketloads anymore. Not interested in a fancy Director title anymore. All I want is a peaceful work environment. Let me go home with a clear mind at the end of the day so that I can go back to work and perform well the next day.

@yeezermac I quit to go to Australia for a fulltime education. But our friendship didn't end there. My ex-boss got all the managers to help me with my assignments....especially my marketing one. I used my ex company vs their competitor. I had great help from my marketing manager :p My boss hold an economics masters degree so guess who did my economics assignments....helped....I mean, guess who helped with my economics assignments LOL
