Do Comics Give You That Giddy Feeling?

I grew up on comics, both local and US ones (Marvel & DC) so when I realized someone has this to-die-for collection of comics I can't help but feel giddy. Yes, things can make people giddy folks.
It's like a mild form of drug addiction, if I don't get to read any comics this person brings I feel like my day is not complete.
The best stories are those that make you giddy. All the superhero stories would probably be too much for my brain to handle if I read a lot in one day. OMG, I missed reading comics.
How about you? If comics doesn't do it for you, what does?

Oh wow, didn't know there were Walt Disney comics? I thought they only made movies back then. Cool!
So I guess the Walt Disney comics won your heart over and married the guy?

Oh we read Archie comics too when I was a kid. My favorite was Veronica even though she's a "bad" girl.

For the record, I'd take Betty over Veronica any day! I still use a line from Archie comics to get a laugh. When Veronica was learning to drive, she said something like "You use this thing to aim it," referring to the steering wheel. I use that line when talking to kids about driving, much to the horror of their parents.

We don't have Marvel Comics here and I was not aware of it until I had a chance to visit America for vacation. However, we have other comics like the Doreamon, Pikachu, Dragonball and others but I do not really follow them or collect like some of my peers.
I wonder if your liking has become an obsession to cause you the giddiness. I get giddy when I'm starving and I get worked up easily too.

Haha. Well it is not an obsession that's for sure. It's just something I got excited over because I rarely get to read them anymore.
I also have a few graphic novels/mangas. Wasn't able to collect that much of it as I tend to not read stuff at all. Books just pile up at home. And I don't bring any books to work so I only rely on the comics I get my hands on at work.

We had the craze for comics in the family. We were members of a library and spent a lot on getting those comics, specially Archie Comics.

Oh that's cool. Why didn't we think of that instead of buying all those comics.
As for the Archie comics, those mostly came from our grandma.

During our childhood days , our father banned local comics for us to read thus he bought us lots of English comics . But since we are hooked on those stories which we follow on Hiwaga comics and the others i forgot , we (our mother being the leader ) would lock our bedroom and read comics .

Hahaha, yeah those comics were awesome. We actually have a collection of Pantasya I think or something about Fantasy comics and also Funny Komiks too. Too bad the local comics industry soon declined.
But there are still indie comics around being sold in malls and comic book conventions.

@SIMPLYD There are still local comics nowadays but I don't buy them anymore. That's why I am giddy whenever I get my hands on other people's comics.

yeah I read them too. I prefer real tangible comics as opposed to those online... Ugh. I like touching the pages more than just reading it.

@arthurchappell I'd rather watch a movie or a TV series on my computer than read ebooks or manga/comics off it. Although I do read online manga when there's nothing else to do. The last time I read a comic online was last year I think.

@owstalaga yes I agree, comic paper and book paper has a very special feel to it that flicking a screen can never capture

There's a store near my house that you would love. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a drive from the Philippines to here. It's a comic book store. They have everything from the old Marvel and DC comics to Archie (which I loved as a kid) to modern anime. You would be like me in a guitar store! Are there dedicated comic books stores near where you live?

Waaaaaah. Now I am dying of envy!!!
Yes we have several comics books stores here too. Places I don't go to anymore because I would be overwhelmed and might not leave without buying anything. It's been years since I've entered one. I really avoid them because the temptation would be too much.
Anyway so you are a guitar player? Guess you have a nice collection eh?
