I read heard about this and it just sickened me. In the Bronx, a woman started yelling Praise The Lord and Hallelujah and then threw her 6 month old daughter out the window of her 6th floor apartment.
Neighbors first saw the woman throwing objects out the window and then she held the baby out the window. As neighbors screamed for her not to do it, the woman let the baby go. When police arrived, the woman was naked and had three other children which were unharmed.

You have to wonder what was wrong with her, and then all the spectators. It sounds very sick all the way around.

I suppose in time we will find out why this mother threw her own child out of a window. Good questions you have asked but I don't think at this time there are any answers to it.

That is horrible news. I hear about this from time to time on the news and it sickens me. I hope those other children got taken away so she can't harm them either.

I wonder if it is post partum depression? It is a horrible thing but one has to feel for a woman with four children and all alone.

@enlightenedpsych2 Why would you assume that she was medicated if she had postpartum depression? Many women don't seek treatment for the condition because they don't necessarily realize they're suffering from it. There's also an incredible amount of stigmatization about treating mental illness in general that leads people to avoid getting the help they need because they don't want to be labeled crazy.
@BelleStarr It sounds more like postpartum psychosis than PPD.

@BelleStarr I think it probably is postpartum depression. It reminds me of many years ago when a mother drowned her 5 kids due to postpartum depression.

@simone10 No neither can I there are Couples who would love to have a Child
At the age of 17 I was told I would more then likely never have children.... I defied them and with a lot of Problems Pains and fear I had a Son and Daughter the pain fear through both pregnancies have been worth it so I do not understand any Mother able to such a thing

@ivyparkgirl no doubt about it. They would be safer there in my opinion.

Feels very sad to hear about it. Women are thrown out to eccentric conditions because of their life situation. A loving husband and family can cure her a lot. But the unlucky situation is that in most of the cases husband avoids wife, that make them depressed a lot and finally they become totally eccentric. They behave in a totally different way, I feel a lot of pity towards that lady.

@rashmiravishibu You are right. It's not all men but there are some that are that way.

I am not blaming the full male community. But there are men who treat women very low, and that affects the physical and mental health of women partner who are not much mentally strong.

@Rosekitty I read and thought the same thing. You can't help but wonder if it could have been avoided.

I do not know how to react but that is a sad news indeed. I love my baby so much that I am so worried if he has an insect bite or scratch. I cannot comprehend as to why they will throw the baby.

This is either the 5th or 6th case of this since early summer. I wonder if people in the area are at the "here they go again" stage? A few people and a blanket in the right spot may have saved the baby. She was placing others in danger just from throwing things out the window.
