Did you hear about the man who built a toy kitchen for his son?

He was proud of it. He used an idea that I've seen on Pinterest and built it for his son's SECOND birthday. I've even sent the suggestion to my ex-husband that he try to build some to sell at the flea market since he's a cabinet maker.
But, let me re-emphasize - the boy is TWO YEARS OLD! What did this father get for his efforts and his proud display of this project? Attacks from people all over condemning him for DARING to build a kitchen for a BOY!!
Didn't he know he was turning his child gay? (they used another very popular insult) Boys aren't supposed to know how to cook. That's a girl's job.
I'm sure some very famous iron chefs would beg to differ - in fact, they DID. That's how I learned of this. Michael Symon and Mario Batali both stood proudly and firmly in their condemnation of the condemnation of this father (who also said his son loves to play with tools, too, and would soon have a tool bench to use.) It was funny to see them flexing their muscles!!
I'm a girl. I was an only child. But, I NEVER had an interest in cooking and I never learned to cook until after I was married (a source of contention the entire time.) I've always enjoyed "boy toys" more than "girl" toys. But, I'm not a lesbian. So, how does wanting to pretend to cook make a boy gay?
These Neanderthals (TEAanderthals?) need one heck of a comeuppance. Even my father took home ec in high school in the 30s!! He may not have been a great cook, but he wasn't afraid to cook his own food when he was in the mood to do it. Cooking didn't emasculate him. These guys need to learn that being a man is so much more than the room you like to be in the most!

You know what's funny. My GF son loves to cook. So one Christmas they bought him a toy kitchen. He loved it and played with it daily. Some of her friend thought it wrong she did this. I disagree. Why because my nephew wanted to be a chef and he went to school to become one. Now he works in one of our hotels and many people are after him to work in their establishment. I think if a boy loves to cook then encourage him. I see nothing wrong with this and love the idea.

Exactly! My son loves to cook and he's a great cook! I started him cooking the fish he would catch back when he was 10. He now cooks for his whole family, wife, kids, father, brother, sister, nieces and nephews. I never got that gene, but he got it in spades!! LOL
