Well not everyone fasts, we are quite liberal, depends on how much religious you are :)

This is from the Hindu culture, which taught the world about Karma. This is celebrated when Lord Ram killed Ravan for his wrong doings

Happy dussehra to you too. here it is known as pooja holidays . We al take our books and leave it in temple. After that take it after 2 days.
