I have been about a week at San Fernand, visiting an aunt I had not seen for about a year. Many things have happened in our family since I last saw her. The most important one, and the main reason why I had not come before, was that my mother passed away a little over 2 months ago. My aunt has been ill also so I did not want to postpone this visit. As I mentioned in another post, I bought an electric oven for her. I do not want her to bend too much as she has problems with her hips. I have been teaching her how to use the oven and I have made yummy things to eat. It has been a wonderful week. I will go back home tomorrow and I know that I will miss her a lot. I will see how to send her more recipes, maybe through my cousin as she does not know about computers and will not learn. For me, cooking goes along fine with bonding most of the time. How about you?

Yes you're very right. There are always chats in the kitchen. We usually do that while cooking especially after a day's work.

Cooking is something my family does a lot, it is one way we bond. I am glad you are visiting your aunt while you can and I am sorry about the loss of your mother.

My aunt is around 90 years old. I know I must make time to be near her and bond and hug while I can.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Losing someone you care about is never easy. I imagine that is very difficult for you and your aunt. Good for you taking it on yourself to help her during this time, especially with her health. Do you know if her joints are the problem? If so, you might consider talking to her about using rose hip supplements. They are really great for joint pain and inflammation and could help ease her pain some! It's worth a try!

I like cooking specially when i see the family eating voraciously because if it . Though, when i cook i don't want to wash the dishes anymore since it seems to numb my hands which was previously made hot by the cooking .
