Trip to Town

I will be taking my sister for an MRI today. As I pass Wal Mart, where hubby does his job I will leave him some merchandising material that will not fit in his car. He put it in the back of the truck, which I will drive. Of course I have shopping as well. I try to cover several things at the same time. I will probably leave here in less than an hour. So, I will be away for a bit, but will come back and work and socialize when I am done. My sister does not HAVE to have me at her MRI, but I like to go to her appointments when ever possible. That way I find out what is going on, and she does not get confused with what she tells me.

It is a good idea for another person to go along for things like that, because that per son can take in a lot of information that the patient migh tnot really hear or understand. Sometimes, it's hard to keep your focus together when you are undergoing a medical problem or treatment.

They will not tell her anything for a while. She had never had an MRI and she looked pretty worn out when she finished.

I wish they would find something that helps her back pain. This is for her kidney, though.

@GardenGerty Yes, they are stingy when it comes to pain for anyone.

She would do the same for me. I also took her to get a new vacuum cleaner and we put it together before I left.

I think the point is to confirm that she has a cyst on her kidney. She has had an xray, dexa scan, cat scan and I am not sure what else in the last week or two.

I still forgot something I was taking to her, and forgot to buy some items, but there is always another trip to make.

That is so nice of you. I think I would feel the same. I know I usually go with a friend at church, she gets so scared. Today I have to work down at the church for about three hours, but I am anxious to get back and do some things around here and come back to MyLot and learn more how to do things in here. I think I am really going to like it in here.

Oh boy. Sounds like you're going to be tired when you get home. It's really awesome you go to her appointments with her. I am a doula and childbirth educator and my sister had me go to her prenatal appointments with her that way she had someone who understood things better with her.

You are so nice to go with your sister to her MRI. While it is that your presence is absolutly necesary, being with a loved one makes all the difference when you are ill.

I tend to make a list of stops for when I am out also. I hope that your sister gets along all right with her testing, enjoy your shopping. I have started a mental list of things to get done when I go out this morning.

Lists do help. There are still a couple of things I need to get or do.

She is in much better health than a year ago, but when the doctor sees something she gets sent for more scans.

I know that people may think I am crazy but every now and then I like to have my brother come with me to doctor appointments when it is related to my rheumatoid arthritis. That way he can understand and back me up on things with the doctor.
