i am not into poetry so can't help you. You could search on line for poetry and the subject you want to see.

What kind of poem are you looking for? If I want to feel calm, I read Robert Frost's Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. If I'm feeling cynical toward the human race, I read Y.B. Yeats's The Second Coming. If I'm feeling in love, I read Matthew Arnold's Dover Beach.

Thank you for the recommendations. I will look for them now, thanks. I am looking for poems that can give you strength and hope like "I'll rise" by Maya Angelou.

@EllaSpringtime If you don't mind a Christian underpinning, try listening to Ain't That Good News by Sweet Honey in the Rock. It's all about finding your inner strength. It's easy to find in YouTube.

@TheHorse not at all. I am open to all kind of religions. Actually I used to watch Christian religious shows on a free channel we have in my country. I love gospel music. It's all about God in the end.

When I feel down, I can read Psalm 37 - and the Bible has so many encouraging poems, that have changed many lives. It is interesting to learn that also the book of Job is written in Hebrew poetry.. The most accurate translations I have found are in jw.org - in hundreds of languages.

I recommend 1hopefulman as a pretty good poet according to what quite a few people have said. You can also see some of his songs on YouTube. I like to read the book of Psalms for some real life-changing songs.
Here is one of my favorite poems that I wrote:
NOTE: While my poems are on this site, I am not being paid for views.
When I go for a walk I sometimes take a road that has a huge weeping willow. Today, as I stared at it, I kept wondering and asking why is it always so sad? It must be crying for some reason? Maybe it's crying for all the children that are victims of child

I wrote this one about my children and it is one of my very favorites:

Children are ever so precious. I was blessed with two daughters. I was thinking of my daughters when I wrote this.

just about any famous poet, Shakespeare, Shelley, Wilfred Owen - many would count as powerful poets
