Do your children have any resemblance with you?

Hello everyone!
Since the beginning of human history, people have wondered how traits are inherited from one generation to the next. Although children often look more like one parent than the other, most offspring appear to be a blend of the characteristics of both parents.
What about you? Do your children resemble you or your spouse or both? And how do you feel when someone points it out to you – “Hey! Your son/daughter looks like a copy of you?”
PS - The picture accompanying the post is just symbolic representation.
Also, have your children inherited characteristics of you or your spouse or both?

It is said that if a daughter looks like her father, she would be lucky in her life.
Oh! she is not talkative and speak less like your husband?
Is your hubby not God fearing, only you?

@dpk262006 Not at all. I said that having resemblence never matter with parents. What matter is the behavior of parents can be guessed from their children

I think my eldest looks more like my husband, while with my two youngest may be a bit of both. Although I've heard that my eldest looks like me, and my two youngest like my husband and such. I can see how people may think they look like me or my husband. I do think my eldest' temperament is like mine in some ways. When she gets mad, she needs time to just be mad, let it out, and just feel what she's feeling. I can be like that as well. When I get mad, I just need a few minutes to myself to be mad.

@dodo19 Yes, it would be better to keep a check on your emotions. A four year old kid getting mad seems strange to me.

Oh! I see your eldest daughter not only looks like you but she has inherited your traits also. What makes you and her to loose your temper, means do you both go mad on the same things/issues?

@dpk262006 well, it's hard to say if it's the same issues, as she is only four. But I can still see how she does take after me in that way. Staying calm and not losing our tempers is a work in progress for both of us.

I don't know whom I resemble. I bet I was exchanged in the hospital. They did not have proper system perhaps, and my exchanged mother was simply too naive to realize I was not her baby. lol. Kidding. Some say I resemble dad, others say I resemble mom, and I say they all have sight problems.

@dpk262006 I am very proud haha! Because she do not look like her mom. Haha! her mom always tells me that because I look like her daughter, I should be the one sending her to school. I should be the one pay for her daughter's school expenses. Haha!

@wiLLmaH - Oh! Your sister appears very smart because she wants you to bear her daughter's expenses because you both look alike.
You could tell your sister that you will go to your niece's school to attend her parents-teacher meeting (which is generally held in schools once in a month) and would tell her class teacher that you are her mother.
If you say so (even jokingly) then see your sister's reaction.

To me my children strongly resemble their father, who is deceased, but others tell me how they look like me. I look at pictures of me and see my mom. I actually see resemblance of my kids to their other grandmother (dad's mom) and great grandmother (dad's grand mother). They are a special blend of "us".

You mean to say that your children not only resembled their late father but they have shads of their parental great grandmother and grandmother also. In that case they are really special.

My kids are half Asian (from my side as you know) and half Caucasian. Even though they have lighter features (hair, skin, eye color) than I do, I see "me", but most people think they look more like their father (they have the "double" eyelid). However these days, as they are a little older now, some say my daughter resembles more of me - and that my son resembles more of dad. I say they look like a mixture of both of us, but really don't look like either of us entirely. But the funny thing is my daughter and my son have the same face - very, very similar - and THEY look like each other!!

Although others reckon that your kids are more like their father but you feel they are like you, specially your daughter. Is not it? Apparently, you see a 'younger you' in your daughter. Your son is like his father. Have your kids inherited any of your traits?
It is interesting to know they look like twins and one could easily guess that they are brother and sister.

@dpk262006 Do you mean personality traits? Oh my, that's a whole long discussion!!! Certainly both have a little of this and a little of that of both of us - we can debate which side of the family certain traits have come from - ha ha. The baby photos of our kids are very similar - if it were not for the girl and boy clothing, sometimes we cannot tell which is which! And they are almost 5 years apart!! And how is it for you and your family??

As far as I understand you (and may be your sister also) have characteristics of your mother as well as your mother and it is difficult to pin point whether you exactly look like your father or not even at this stage.
If a daughter looks like her father, she is considered lucky.

@Pattitude Your daughter should feel proud of your and the traits she inherited from you, I cannot understand what makes her hate this aspect, when told to her.
It is really a great thing in my view that your grand daughter looks like you, this should be taken positively by your daughter. Is not it?

@dpk262006 The older my daughter gets, the more I see a resemblance. I do see her father's side too, but I don't hold it against her!
But personality wise? She is just like me! And she hates it when I tell her so!
She also gets miffed when people tell her how much her daughter looks like me. So when she's a teenager, my daughter will be looking at her mother's face in her daughter!

Yes, of course both physically and character. I really recognize on what my daughters resemblance with me. In fact, I often laugh when she imitated my behavior which I often do in my time when I being child. I always try to recognize the character of my daughters so that I know how to treat them so that them are better. It's quite challenging and memorable.

When my first son was born, many people said that he is more like of his father, they really look alike even in their picture of still a baby, even the figure of his body similar to his father, they have the same butt, the same eyes, and the lines of their palm.
While when I born my second son most of the people said that this time,It has a more resemblance to me but as he gets older by months, other people said again that he is more like a look of his father.

I never really paid attention to which of my parents I look more like but I know I have inherited my dad artistic nature which has been passed down to my children. As for my children, they are all boys so while the family tells me they look like me I think they show equal parts of both. For sure they got their dad's height thank goodness, they didn't take mine.

Both of my kids look like me and their father. I think it was the Iris/ German genes that make us look alike. The funniest thing is that my 15 year old grandson looks so much like me that I have to laugh. He is sooo adorable. Blonde/blue eyes and has the crazy sense of humor that I have.
On the other hand, I look so much like my deceased mom and always have but sometimes when looking in the mirror, I will say to the reflection, Mom, how did you get in there.
