I am grateful

Mom and I stopped at a friend's place today. The friend had advertised that she had walnut trees that were dropping walnuts and thus attracting crows and magpies by the thousands. I answered her, telling her I'd be over, ready to gather nuts. While we walked to her shed to get rakes, I noticed a lush grape arbor. Oh my. Oh my. Grape clusters and grape clusters that wouldn't quit. Friend said that they'd eaten some but mostly the birds were having a picnic on them. You bet I begged for some bags so that I could gather some up. She gave me both eating grapes and purple Concord juice or wine grapes. Oh me oh my.

I am not sure. The small green grapes remind me of what my brother used to grow. Sweet and yet tangy. The larger purple ones might be concord. For sure not great for snacks.

I don't know the variety, @thehorse. Delicate and rather small and light green. Not sturdy enough for commercial handling.

Today was your lucky day. My dad grew grapes and walnuts. I love it when i was visiting when things were ripe. I love making jelly out of the concord grapes.
