Parkinson's Disease can make you lose your faith.

What a statement huh? Drugs for Parkinson's could make you become a gambler. Wow! This disease attacks the brain tissue. Located in the temporal lobes is in the amygdala area of the brain. It is a small, almond shaped mass. It is associated with emotions, memory and aggression. It is my thought that many of the stories in the news about violence where people just go shooting a group of people may be associated with a difficulty, i.e. tumor, pressure, etc. in this area of the brain. There have been stories of epileptic victims having this part of their brain removed and they no long have seizures. But, they also have memories problems and can't function on a day-to-day basis. My question for this discussion is: What if the cause for anti-social, sociopathic and such types of personality disorders is due to a problem in this area of the brain?

I am sure that brain function could have that affect.

@celticeagle To me, any problem in the brain can or could affect our physical and mental actions.

It could be very likely. I read an article not long ago about liars and non liars and what or how their brains are different. So this can hold true for other types of illnesses or problems.

And if they had less room for input in these areas I wonder if that would limit them further.

I don't know that much about the brain so I really couldn't say. The brain is so very interesting and doctors don't know as much about it as they do the other organs in our bodies.

@celticeagle Yes it is. Sometimes I think I would have liked to have been a neurosurgeon.

Lots of food for thought here. It gives a person something to think about in conjunction with all the terrorist activities around the world and in our schools.

And I wonder if it could be a generational abnormality.

I think there have been some studies to suggest this-and I know that used to be one of the ideas behind a lobotomy and that is what they found...it seemed to help emotional distress, but at a very great cost to the person's personality. It's one of the reasons why they were outlawed, I believe. Mmmmm, I'm being overly simple in those statements, it's a very big topic...but yes, as I said, I do think there has been at least some suggestion of this within the medical community.
