I was just following up on Hurricane Patricia this morning and was pleased to discover that it has gone from a category 5 down to a category 1.
As far as I can tell, there have been no reported injuries or deaths yet so I hope this turns out to be true. I was really worried for the people in Mexico after seeing how huge this hurricane was. Especially when it was stated that it was the biggest hurricane to ever hit the Western Hemisphere. Pretty scary stuff.
I'm not sure if any of myLotters are from Mexico or close to where this storm is but if you are, I hope you stay safe.

We don't yet know what the full impact of the hurricane was but they did have time to prepare and evacuate so that helps

I'm glad to hear that. We vacationed in that area a few times, it was a lovely resort but the people who lived there were very poor and their homes didn't look like they could make it through a storm like that one.

I was worried about the people in Mexico, too. Now it seems that the people in Texas are more in danger from it.

It's so sad that almost every year we hear of calamities striking countries . Now it's Mexico ! Here in the Philippines , at least 3 strong typhoons always hit the Philippines . After the typhoon a lot of damages on properties , infrastructure and lost lives are done . So sad .

Most of my neighbors have roots in Mexico and I know my next door neighbors have family in Guadalahara, I'm not really sure exactly where that is and although I tried to ask (I don't speak Spanish) I didn't quite understand the answer (she speaks limited English).

And once again the weather people overstated what would happen but I would rather they be wrong that way.

Good thing it hit in an area that was less populated but now Texas will be hit with torrential rains. Hope everyone there is safe & sound
