Why not our own picture?

Have you noticed that most of mylotters did not use their own picture as their avatar here. Why we use other picture instead of ours?Others have so much affection for a certain thing,animals,or a flower and they use it in replace of their own picture.Maybe other's have also valuable reason for using it as an avatar..Care to share guys. As for me,I used to to put my Family as my avatar for a reason that I like seeing them even in the picture only and of course I love them so much.

I rarely post my real face on the internet.. just in facebook i guess i am scared, or just putting up some walls I feel more freedom posting anonymously

@lady1993 I like it when you say about freedom from writing anonymously.Yeah,I guess its okay when we are just an imaginary to other people,they don't know exactly who we are,they keep on imagining.

I'd rather not post pictures of my family here or even use them as my userpic. It's my choice really, if others want to do it, then I'm fine with it.

I use a cartoon I made from a photo of me, it is the avatar that I use in every blog and site where I write. I would never change it because it's the way people recognize me.

@LadyDuck Now at least I can figure out what exactly do you look like..and right no need to change it,it's kind of unique and they can recognize you easily as they already know.

I was bored of cats and other pictures were just too large. So decided to put my work instead. Now, this one has been fluttering eyes for years! Never felt any need to use my picture. Prefer others not using it too, except when...well, ahem. Mostly, I love imagination.

@hora_fugit I thought you are in the picture until I noticed that the eyes is blinking.I think many of us still wondering how other mylotters looks like.If you have been using this as an avatar for years then better not to change it for others recognize you with this.

I think some are like myself. I didn't use mine for a while because I look so old and no longer like my physical image . but after a while I saw others that didn't worry about it. so I did use my image now

My avatar is me and one of my dogs. I figure, that I am not going to get any younger, so why not post my picture. I am not afraid to show my picturee, as I can't change my looks anyway. I am the way I am alwasy going to be, so I just have to live with it and accept it.

@cgalavia Like I said, we can't change the way we look, and we certainly can't change our age, so we might as well be proud of our pictures. I really don't take very good sellfies, but this one is my best one ever.

Maybe I'm too pretty to show myself and I might have a problem with a lot of suitors haha shame on me no. I just like this cat to represent me she looks dignified which I 'm not haha/ Don't believe anything I say. . Just accept it okay

I just don't feel like posting my own pic anywhere online unless it's for work or something. Even my Facebook page does not have my own pic on the profile. hahaha~ If I post pics of me it's just on my timeline/wall or I get tagged.

Because people prefer to be anonymous, some gets in trouble when posting their real pictures. in fact, siblings before had fights simply because they see their sisters or brothers posting what they don't like on the net. . I agree with @hora_fugit there's more freedom of thought that way.

My profile photo shows a tennis player who looks like a mix of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt . . that is why the one in the picture looks ugly . . Now I know that if you mix the DNAs of 2 good looking guys, the outcome is ugly guy . . That's me in the picture!
