I´ll never earn enough here to buy a freezer but...

I decided to write this post after reading @owlwings post about his 9 years here.
I am also a senior here, but as many did, I left the site for some time and landed on Bubblews.
The site was never like mylot. Here I feel that I´m in my living room chattering with friends and sharing a cup of tea or coffee. There, posts were more formal and there was less interaction.
At one time, payment there was very good although you never knew whether you would be lucky enough to be paid. I remember I had to show them that I has asked for cashout. It never happened like that in the old mylot.
Right now, I´m still earning by cents here. I haven´t seen many of my old friends. But the conversation is as good as before.
And I want to thank my friends here because they meant a lot for me at a time when I was very ill and all I could do was mylot

The impending collapse of bubblews was the reason for me coming here - I am most surprised that this site is over 9 years old. What was the initial origin of mylot? Was it a social interaction site or a community get together place?
Are the original site developers / creators still here?
Who are the longest serving members?

Yes, money can't healing us from pain of heart, money can't make us feel loved, money can't understand how we need a friend accept us. Although you can't earn money to buy a freezer here, but some friends who appreciate what you post is more valuable than money.

I'm sure that you'll find that your earnings here will get better as time goes on. The earnings algorithm here is slightly different from the old one and it depends much more on how others interact with your posts - in the way of responding and commenting and liking them - rather than on your posts themselves. It's interesting to note that 'quality' is no longer specifically mentioned in the Earnings Program FAQs, though, of course, it's just as important as it always was because 'quality' is what makes other people want to respond to one's discussions and comment on one's responses and comments. In fact, the more 'conversational' a discussion becomes, the better it is for all concerned!

hope more of my old friends come by to visit. Still, I would be happy if I could make $10 in a month. Of course, as time goes by, one gets greedy.

I left for two years after mylot changed, and I didn't think I would ever come back again, as I wasn't sure they would ever pay again. When I came back in August to check to see what was going on, it is then that I realized that they were again paying. That made me very happy. I am having so much fun in here, interacting with others, and they with me.

@marguicha I am so glad that I make anything at all online, as it is so difficult to find any sites that are willing to pay us for our work, and when I found mylot, I felt I had hit the jackpot. I always new I wouldn't make a lot, but i knew it would add up over time, and that is the main thing.

@rosekiss I had the time of my life with the old mylot and it was just when I had my chemo.

Bubblews never had what I´d call a conversation. Here we chat, we interact, we make friends.

I know this will never replace a job, and it should not. I have that homey feeling as well when I am here. I am delighted that you survived your illness and live on to vacation and host meals and visit with us.

My life changed in many ways after my lymphoma. I did not think I would make it and not I live as well as I can without making plans for a far future.

Hi friend, so very nice to see you again, I missed you so much as much as i missed the old Mylot and all my friends. To be honest, i never joined Bubblews or any other writing site after the old Mylot, just devoted my time to off line things i had to do, my biz and my family, anyway i still visited and did a few posts on the non-paying Mylot, just to take a peep who stayed even if it was no longer paying. So blessed to hear that you are well and believe it or not, we still continue to pray for you here.

The same thing happens to me. After all, there´s nothing much that you can buy with a few dollars. But friends are priceless.

The earnings for a while at Bubblews were way too high to be sustainable. This is more realistic.

I started here. For me Bubblews was a site to replace mylot. In some ways it did, but in others it didn´t

Bubblews was very good for me for some months. But then it just did not pay unless you could show some proof that yiu had asked for payment.
