How to Make Friends With Your Digestive System

This really depends on our eating habits. Practicing the below, will make things a lot more comfortable!
Don't gulp your food, allow the essence of your food to enter your sinus cavity and savor the taste
Wait at least 15 minutes before getting a second helping. This gives time for the food you have consumed to make it to your intestines
Try to be happy when you eat. If you stress over things, your digestive juices (enzymes) and the contractions through out your digestive system will not work as well, and you will get a stomach upset
Take time to enjoy the aroma when you are cooking. It is a proven fact that the sight and smell of food, and food itself during taste stir up your digestive enzymes and eases digestion
Try to eat the same amount of food each day. Don't overeat one day, and starve yourself the next. This will give you a constant supply of needed nutrients and minerals.

Wonderful advice. I need to remind myself more about the last point. I don't think I eat a regular amount of food everyday.

I have been very careful with my digestive system. I got very sick in June and was admitted into the hospital for a week for severe dehydration. They could not find a cause but we all assumed it was something I ate, and sometimes I forget to drink enough water. But then I got sick again 2 weeks ago. Was not admitted but went to the ER. They hydrated me, I was severely dehydrated again. I think it was my medication, which I have since thrown away.

@Pattitude I'm sorry to hear that, glad you're doing well now. I try to make sure I get enough fluids daily since I know dehydration can be dangerous.

@cahaya1983 Yes I have had to set timers on my smart phone to remind me to drink.

I know! Many people do not realize that if you eat slower, you will get fuller faster.

My son in law is the fastest eater that I've ever known. He's finished his meal before most of us can even cut our meat. He eats so fast I wonder how he enjoys it
