Please is a word used in many wàys. Endearment is one. Whem you sày politely the word please to convey the message it is because your opinion matters so much . Unfortunattely, if misundrrstood, and an apology is said is it not a humane act to accept?
Flaunting is a mean word for me. When apology has been said and still the mistske is magnfied and talked about it is not a humane act.
We say we accept our faults and yet we flaunt the mistake to whoever we interact, is that not a mistake too? We say this is a fun site then is flaunting a fun site for us?
Do we flaunt these mistakes coz we want to be exalted? Maybe.and flaunting mistakes may give us that.Consider yourself on the other end would that be okay for you?
Frienship is a valued commodity for me and i treasure it in my heart. I am sorry to see that the biggest failure is for valued people never even valuing it.
if saying pkease is not accepted as a sign of endearment but only for begging alone, then, i rest ny case

I think it depends on the context and situation when you use the word. I always regard it as a polite way when requesting for something. I'm not sure how it's used as a sign of endearment though. Can you give an example?

Please in this world today has many meanings.
Like please could you pass the salt?
Or if someone say something you dont like
You say Pullleeeeaaaazzzee lolz
Perhaps I am missing your point here, but I do also treasure any friendship in todays world.

In my own opinion, when a person has the natural tendency to use the words please, sorry, thank you (and the likes) with sincerity then, it is a manifestation of the person's good heart.

Please is always nice. I have taught my kids that any time you want some one to do something you should say 'please'. And, anytime someone does something nice for us we should say 'thank you'. It's only right.

all the basic polite words are open to abuse - many apologies are utterly insincere and more to please the authorities than the aggrieved party. Please is often used condescendingly, as if saying it automatically entitles the speaker to what s/he wants. Thank you is often said with zero gratitude.

I would guess that if someone is harping on a mistake after an apology, they didn't really accept it.
