What Changes Would You Like to be Seen on MyLot?

I really hope that the myLot staff take a look at this discussion as I hope it will give good ideas on how to improve their website. On another note, this is not a website-bashing discussion, so please be courteous in your responses.
I haven't been here very long, but I've found some things that I wish myLot would add to their website in the future.
#1. The "Most Recent" discussions list should include discussions that have recently been responded to, not just discussions that have recently been posted. How often do you write a thoughtful discussion (only to get two responses on it) and then it is sent to the "discussion graveyard" where they are rarely seen once in a blue moon? There are a lot of great discussions in that graveyard that I wish would get a new life. By having a "recently responded to" category, more users will find your discussion and respond to it. The more interaction you have, the more money you will make.
#2. I'd really like to see less advertisements when I click on or search a tag. When I search a tag or keyword, I am looking for a discussion, not a series of advertisements related to that keyword. This is a discussion website. MyLot already has plenty of advertisements on the sides, top, and bottom of the webpage. If I want to know where to find (for example) a "wedding ring," I'll google it.
#3. When I send a message to someone, it would be nice to get a notification telling me that user has read my message, similar to facebook's message system. This way users can tell if a myLotter is ignoring them or not.
Some changes to myLot that I love are that you can edit your discussion, response, or comment any time you want. I'm pretty sure it used to be permanent back in the day. I also love the simplistic design and how the navigation is always on the left side of the webpage.
Anyway, that's all the changes I can think of right now. So what are some changes to myLot you would like to see in the near future?

I am still in the stage of "getting-to-know-more" about the site; so, I don't have any thing to recommend to be changed for now. But it would be very encouraging if MyLot start giving a sort of "welcome-to-MyLot" bonus of, say, $5.00 to us - new members! That would be nice and very much appreciated.

@crewgirl You are right . . there are always bad people around. But then MyLot surely has a way to pinpoint those kind of members. . .

That would be VERY nice It would definitely encourage more traffic to the site, that's for sure. But somehow people will think of ways to take advantage of that by creating multiple accounts and such. I hate it when people ruin things. Thanks for your response!

Good ideas friend.
I would only like to be able to delete discussion I have responded to.

I'm okay with the current layout and interface. I just think it would be good to have discussions sort into their respective categories. Tags are fine but I think having categories would be even more awesome.

@crewgirl We're supposed to be able to use the search feature to find more of them. It doesn't seem to work as well as it could.
Alex has said that there's a major update in the works. I'm kind of hoping that a change in how well the search works will be part of the package when that takes place, although there's no saying when it will be at this point.

MyLot used to have a lot more discussion categories (I think). It's been awhile since I've been back to the site. I'm currently liking the current layout as well. And I appreciate how some of the rules have been changed to prevent more spam. Thanks for your opinion!

Change scares me. Every time they implemented a change on "that other site," it meant things didn't work as well and earnings declined. I'm cool with getting rid of the "self-promotion" feature, but other than that, I say leave well enough alone.

Changes can be scary, but change can also be a good thing too. I predict this site will not always be the same (unfortunately to those who do not like change). The internet changes and myLot constantly needs to keep up with that to continue to attract users. Facebook is constantly updating and changing their website. They have to to stay up to date with social media features or they will end up like poor myspace soon enough. Thanks for your opinion!
