Will you give up your phone and wallet to a holdapper/mugger?

I received a sad news that one of our co-workers died because she was shot by a holdapper/mugger. As per the interview of witnesses, the holdapper asked her to give her phone or he will shoot her. She declined to give her phone and so the holdapper/mugger shot her. She died due to internal bleeding.
This is really sad as she might have spent a lot of working hours just to save money for her phone. And besides, that is her own phone and these holdappers/muggers do not have any right to assault her. This is indeed sad and what is more sad is that those people who killed her do not really care at all if they kill other people.

@chiwasaki I hope they get caught too. I wonder how long a sentence they would serve there.

Exactly so we should take care of ourselves by not bringing expensive bags and phones outside and specially during the night.

Yes they need to be given a long jail sentence or even more than that for killing another in the commission of a robbery.

I definitely agree with you. I will also do the same. If they threaten me that they will shoot me, I will give my phone as well.

@chiwasaki let us just hope that situation never arrives because earning money is really hard these days, and having criminals just taking it away is awful

I will also do the same. However, some muggers will try to get everything from you and shoot you anyway.

That is so true. A phone can be replaced but life cannot be replaced. I am sure most of the people who are working in the same company heard this sad story.

That is right. Be careful my fellow MyLotters. Be observant with your surrounding and do not bring expensive phones outside or specially during the night.

This is very sad :(
If that happened to me, yes, I will give my phone even my purse if need be to that mugger as long as he spares my life. I can always buy another phone & purse (plus all what are inside it), or, maybe somebody will gift me those. But, at the present times, what guarantee do I have that he will spare my life, even if I gave him all my valuables? Maybe, I will also fight with all my might! Hay...

I do not live where this is likely, but nothing is worth your life, even if it was hard to obtain.

In my village/subdivision, there is a lesser crime rate but in the city, you can find it everywhere. This is really sad.
