Pouring rain!

That's what our weather is like here today. The clouds are covering the mountains and the sound of rain on the tin roof is a welcome sound.
We've had a dry autumn this year, which has made for some lovely days, but it is unusual not to have rain during October. It's also been warmer than usual. We rely on snow in the high mountains to hold the moisture so that next summer isn't too dry.
So I'm happy for this rain, even though it's changed some of the chores I planned to do today as part of getting ready for the winter. I'm happy to work inside instead.

This gives you the perfect opportunity to change around your home, prepare for November and December and be ready for when the cooler weather arrives. Tomorrow or the next day when the rain stops you'll have the perfect opportunity to go out and do the rest.

I agree. I will not be at a loss as to what to do today -- there are many things needing my attention.

@Sheilamarie78 I can see this one. Always after a nice summer and long fall your home is neglected as you try to spend more time outside. Because you know winter will arrive soon and you will spend more time inside.

We are having a cool breezy fall day with leaves swirling around everywhere, quite lovey really. I am glad for your rain however, the west has been so dry.

Yes, it has. We aren't as bad as some places, but still it was dry.

When we moved into the house it needed a new roof and the metal roofs were just popping up around. I love the look and wanted one but I didn't get my way. I love the sound of rain on the roof as it is now, I'm thinking it would be too loud on metal. Enjoy your rain. Tonight is Halloween and its suppose to start raining here at 5 PM.

Our October has been warmer than usual, but also wetter. November is slatted to be colder than average. I have my sweaters at the ready.

It's interesting to me, too, to imagine what it's like across the globe.

When you need the rain, you'll take it as long as it doesn't lead to flooding.

A gentle rain is what you need so that it seeps into the ground. Too hard and it can cause trouble.

If not for halloween tomorrow, I would be thrilled with the weather. I hope it passes in time for trick or treating

There aren't any kids in our neighborhood but I hope the rain lets up for the kids closer to town.
