I will never understand this crazy world as long as I live. I cannot believe how someone could want to harm an innocent child. Whey would anyone try to ruin the special time that innocent children look forward to such as Halloween? What is wrong with people and why do they have such sick minds?
It has to be a sick minded person to wedge a razor blade inside of a Snickers bar and put it in the mix to hand out to children. This very thing happened in Reynoldsburg Ohio. Sick minded people would want to harm a child in such a way. The snicker bar was one of that mini size or fun size that an innocent child received while trick or treating Thursday night. It is sad how people mind's work, and why they want to harm innocent children who is only looking to have a good time.

There are some very sick people out there. but as far as I'm aware those post that go viral every year are more often than not a hoax. there one going around at the moment saying people are giving out ecstasy pills shaped like the flintsones. but the picture is of an old brand of flintstones vitamins.so i always take those warning with a massive dose of salt.

I got this off of the news that is on my homepage from my internet provider. Apparently the cops are looking into it, but how will they know which house to investigate.

@slund2041 Honestly? They MIGHT be able to get a print or partial print off the candy wrapper. The parent(s) (if they went with the kids) will be able to tell them what houses they stopped at. Chances are about 75% that they won't find out who did it...
In a perfect world, the parents would only allow their child(ren) to knock on doors where the person is very well known to the parents... and even then some sicko would pull a stunt like this, in all likelihood...

It is a bad thing. From what I heard it happen to an older child, so no one was harmed. What if it had been a two year old. WOW! My heart breaks just thinking about it.

@DaddyEvil Yes, it was an older child, but just think what could have happen had it been a two or three year old child. People are just evil. I am glad nobody was harmed.

I hope so as well. I think some states thought it would be safer if they had it on Thursday night instead of tonight. I guess one can never be to safe.

@MarshaMusselman I think an older kid found it in a snickers candy bar. I think the kid was 12.

The difficulty with this, Arthur, is that kids get their bags filled going house to house mostly and after the night is over no one really knows which house the offending piece of candy came from. This issue happened quite a bit when I was younger, but I thought it was better these days. Did the parent find the blade before the child got hold of it? I hadn't heard about this before now.

Maybe they are psychotic. Normal people can't do that not only for a child but to his fellow human being.

I would defiantly say they are not normal. I think it takes a cruel person to harm a child.

@slund2041 @DeborahDiane I just read an article that states that the police and the parents of that kid did find more of the candy that was given out appeared to have been tampered with, too. It also stated that all the candy from one home was confiscated because the police believe it was where the candy bar with the razor type object came from.
While that doesn't mean anyone has been arrested, that does suggest that there is a good possibility that the police have narrowed their potential suspects to the people who live in that house and anyone who had access to the candy those people were giving out that night.

@DaddyEvil I am glad they know where to investigate. Hope no other child got a hold to razor blades.

It does appear to be an isolated incident but still, they must be crazy.

Oh, that poor kid! What an ugly minded individual that had to have been to do that to a kid!
That is one of the reasons spoken about by the mayor of our city when they decided to ban trick or treating here, SLund.
When I hear about something like this, I wish the whole holiday was banned! It would give the sickos one less chance to hurt a kid!

I would hate to see no children being allowed to have fun, because sicko's want to ruin it for them. It does sicken me at the thought of how evil minded this cruel person was.

@DaddyEvil It sounds like you had a nice solution. I am sure the children would miss dressing up in costumes and such, but safety is what matters.

@slund2041 Yeah, I do agree with you.
What I did after Pretty decided she was too old to trick or treat was to buy bags of candy and just give each of my daughter's friends a bag of candy each so they didn't feel like they were missing out on anything even if they didn't go out that night.
But my solution may not be enough for some kids, either.
