I whole heartedly hate that saying. Why people think it's romantic to say I'd die for you I don't know. it's basically saying I love you so much I'd leave you with a broken heart and the horror of grieving. Isn't it much more romantic to say I'd live for you?

that's not what it means Phoenixmaid I would die for you means I love you so much I would give up my life so yours would be better or you can keep going on. your loneliness and heartache is a result of them making that sacrifice but you would still be alive. if a gunman was going to kill you and someone took a bullet for you that's dying for you. if you were in the path of a speeding car and someone knocked you out the way but got hit themselves that's dying for you. Giving up a organ so someone could have it is a example too

Honestly yes. But not only for those whom I love. I would die for the little kids who come to play with me everyday. If there was some problem of sorts, yes, I would die for them. I would die even for some cause such as getting laws amended in this country. So it is not something linked to conventional love I feel. It has more to do with the need to protect or do something.

I don't think there are many people among us who would be capable to love on such a level that they would give up their own lives

I cannot tell. I just cannot tell because it becomes different when you are already in that situation.
