I like reading posts of good cheer
They make me feel good to be here,
But please don't be cross
If I don't give a toss,
What you had for breakfast - so drear.
There's Owlwings so helpful and wise,
And Phredwreck is one of those guys
Takes aim and will shoot,
Gives spammers the boot,
He soon cuts them all down to size.
Then there is Alex or Alice,
Their answers you won't want to miss,
And Admin we thank
For cash in the bank,
Perhaps we should send them a kiss.
I'm surprised how quickly I've integrated into this site, I really feel at home here now. Did it take you long to feel comfortable here?

Thumbs up for a verse that makes sense (and scans and rhymes properly!)
It's so long ago that I've forgotten! I came here from Yahoo Answers, so I was somewhat familiar with the discussion format. I think that it only took me two or three days to begin to feel at home and possibly a week - no longer - before I was hooked!

@DaddyEvil I'd love to hear your English accent, and even your American one!

@jaboUK @Owlwings Yes, respects and gives crap to and teases mercilessly and has fun with and is interesting to talk with on many different subjects and .... on and on and on and.... etc. eternally, as far as I have so far ascertained!
I very much suspect you are correct, Janet. (I also suspect that if we were to be talking in person, both of you would have me enthralled with your English accents!) I do so love to play with accents... Uhm... I kinda think I can do a fairly good English "Posh" (as Janet calls it) accent I learned from an elderly woman when I was young.

I felt welcomed and encouraged the very first day I got here. I had a lot of friends from that other site that encouraged me to join over here. I've also met so many that were nothing but kind and helpful on how this site works. I thank everyone who made me feel like i belonged here.

@PainsOnSlate Yes, the welcome from both old friends and 'soon-to-be' friends was wonderful wasn't it? As you say, everyone is so helpful and friendly, what's not to like?

I was here years ago, but the site is very different now than it was back then. So, I both felt at home and in a new place all at the same time. But I think that most people have settled in quite comfortably and it's working out very nicely.

Very nicely done.
No, once I learned to navigate around and start to meet new people, I was quite comfortable here. I am glad you are too.

Thanks for remembering @jaboUK.
@DaddyEvil My schedule depends on my available time at work and at home. The moment my kids say Daddy let's play, I have to drop everything including my laptop. No wonder it's scratched and dented from the drops I made. I digress again.
I manage people at work. I only get to see myLot when everything is already running smoothly, which only happens before the actual work starts and before going home.
But I'm committed to find time to discuss and respond as myLot helps me divert my attention and relieve stress.

@Beatburn Yes you were among my welcoming committee, and I'm grateful to you for that. It's one of the reasons that I welcome newbies, because I so appreciated it myself. I'm sorry that you haven't been around much, perhaps you'll be able to be in the future.

Yes, @Beatburn , I was thinking about you a couple of days ago and wondering when you would be back again.
Do you have a schedule you go by or are you just here whenever you can get away from everything else?

@crazyhorseladycx Don't let it become a chore - just do what you feel like doing. I think you'll find that people will understand.
