This is one more photo from our Halloween weekend. Our retirement community has a stable where I go horseback riding every week. In addition, the children and grandchildren of the residents are allowed to take classes there. One of our daughters and one of our granddaughters ride there often. On Halloween morning, they had a horse show and performed for the residents. They all looked wonderful in their costumes and the way they decorated their horses! I particularly liked the picture of these two horses that the girls painted to look like a zebra and a giraffe ... at least as much as you can make a horse look like a zebra and giraffe! LOL

I'm so glad you saw this picture and post, @crazyhorseladycx. I remember hoping you would when I originally wrote it. Isn't the paint job on those horses amazing? I agree that most horses would promptly roll after having this done to them! LOL

Actually, I doubt the horses minded. They love attention.

@DeborahDiane Will they just let the paint wear off of the horses, or will the have to remove it?

These horses certainly had to have patience, to allow the painting. Very interesting.

Horses are surprisingly patient. Our daughters used to braid their horses tails and manes, put giant sunglasses on them and decorate them in many ways. I think they actually like the attention!

It is one of the things I love about our community ... that our children and grandchildren can use a few of the amenities. My grandson play golf with my husband, too.

As a matter of fact zebras are of the horse family (African Equis). It's not easy to make a horse look like a zebra, you should paint it white first and then add the black stripes.

You are right, but I don't think the girls wanted to spend that much time decorating their horses! I horse painted like a giraffe really made me laugh!

I missed this last year but don't the horses look lovely? I've seen the bones painted on them too when someone is holding a lesson about movement or gait or whatever.
