Reviving Old Discussions/Posts

Today I went on a journey to myLot circa 2008 and read some posts of the period. Then I jumped to 2013 and commented on a few posts that I found interesting. Then back to 2015 and responded to discussions posted a month or so ago.
I like how myLot keeps an archive of old posts and suggests similar topics in the You Might Also Like feature.
I feel good reviving old posts. Do you also comment on older discussions? How do you feel about it?

I do like to comment on old posts although I know I will likely not earn from it. I do it for a few reasons. I commented on one today that I liked because I know that the poster has returned.
I will comment on one that interests me in case the poster will get notifications and come check us out.
I will also comment if I just cannot resist. Yes, I like the offering of both old and new discussions for our pleasure.

Wouldn't we still earn by responding to older posts? Still, if I find one good discussion I'll participate in it even if those who discussed are no longer active here. Maybe they'll come back and get a pleasant surprise or maybe not. It still gives me that happy feeling like I gave the post temporary but renewed life.

Sometimes we discover old friends while commenting at old posts

@Beatburn You will earn from responding to older posts only if people interact with your response. That will most likely happen only if the original poster of the discussion is active on here, because he or she will get a notification of your response. The other way to earn on older posts is if you comment in a response box of someone who is active, and they come back and interact with you, because again they will be notified that you commented on their response. The third option, which is less likely, is that someone is stalking you (in a good way) and notices that you made a comment and goes to check it out and responds to it and/or "likes" it.

I don't know if i should revive my old discussions, maybe not a good ide revising old post. I tried it but later i realized it might traced back to my other old post and accused me of plagiarism. better make something new no matter how similar it is with the old one, we can help it when ever we make new post.

I like to reply to old discussion threads too.
Some of these threads are very informative because those who participate really wrote very lengthy posts, and they got into a debate or discussion that ran into pages.
I really hope that those former Mylotters return.

I would comment on old posts no problem Beatburn. I see them at the side, but usually find I am so busy responding to present, I do not get to them. It is so nice that they are available to us though.

I haven't explored other people's older discussions yet. I mostly keep up with the most recent ones. I'd probably do that if I have the time.

I guess at this point, I am a newbie (here) and don't have any old ones. I worry I might miss comments though.

I have revived a few older discussions, since I have been back here. It does feel good to do it, especially if the discussion is still relevant today. Similarly, I have had several of my older discussions revived by people in the last few months, and they have gotten quite a few more responses from it. That feels good as well, because it is nice to know that my discussions are still relevant and worth the response.

As long as the person who authored the discussion is still an active member of myLot, Beatburn, then there is nothing wrong with reviving those old posts!
The problem begins when you land on a discussion where the author no longer bothers to come to myLot to check on his/her posts.
If/When you comment on one of the old discussions but the author does not come back to comment back to you, all you are doing is wasting your own time. You can't earn anything without someone commenting back to you on one of those old discussions.
