Raiding your kids candy!

(Very sorry if this is already a topic, but I didn't have time to go through them all.)
As most of you know, my son is still very little with very few teeth, therefore he can't really eat any candy. Plus I don't want him having too much sugar right now. We still went trick or treating like we did last year when he was also still teeny tiny lol. Last year he was in a stroller, but this year since he's been walking he walked up to all the houses to get his candy.
I take whatever is given obviously, but I do try to get the good candy (meaning ones me and hubby like lol.) I love Starburst, Sour Patch Kids, Reese's, Hershey's and Butterfingers the most. I'm not sure if anyone here still eats candy or what not, but do you secretly ever raid your kid's candy or do you buy some yourself so you don't feel guilty?

My kids have all (grand kids and my daughter that is)l been very generous. We are all chocolate lovers. So usually what happens is they go out and come home to spread it all out on my floor. I take what they give me and it is usually more than enough and stuff they don't care about anyway. So it works well for all of us.

oh what a time to be a diabetic on Halloween? lol I can eat marshmallows and a few Reeses Pieces and those mini bars' but not too much of any of those c andies and I will have high blood sugar.Eating a candy I like will pleasure me for a few minutes then I start to feel ill and perspire and my throat goes dry, I have to dash to the bathroom too many times. So it all boils down to weighing do I want to eat that delicious candy or be sick?

Aww I'm sorry you're diabetic. My dad is too so he's always telling me he's so jealous of me that I can eat sweets. I don't eat a whole lot though.

I did take a bit of candy from both of them, but some I took because it was not age-appropriate. Besides, they can't eat all that candy, it's not good for them. You are doing what is best for you son, saving him from too much sugar.

Thanks. Too much candy is never a good thing. Even when I raid the candy, it takes me a good while to actually eat a good chunk of it.

I'm all for the Snickers! And then Reese's peanut butter cups. And then the peanut M&Ms. The it would be the Twix or KitKats. I do buy our own stash, but of course it never lasts for long - so then we dip into the kids' bags hoping they won't notice - ha ha!

@DanieGirl80587 If my kids see that their Snickers are missing, they will know who did it!

Haha let's hope they don't notice. If they do they might start hiding it from you lol.

I do raid my kids candy, though they are very generous and they give us a lot of the candy that we like with taking some for themselves as well. We do raid it here and there though for a peice or 2 because 2 kids and that much candy is not going to happen Lol I do not allow them to eat all the candy they get because they would eat it until they were sick! They are only 6 and 7 years old.

@DanieGirl80587 Yes that it is! Usually when they get a lot of sugar we go outside to run off as much of that energy as we can

My kids like different types of candy than the ones I like, so I'd usually buy them for myself. But eating them secretly? Guilty as charged.

My kids are all grown now. I snagged a few Smarties when they were little. Also, we had the left over candy we didn't give out. Now I live out in the country. I've never had a trick-or-treater in over 20 years, so no excuse to buy bags of fun-size candy bars.
