Mylotting

I see people start discussion after discussion everyday.. I am curious too.. so I read them and check them out though I may not comment. I see hardly anyone responds to a whole bunch of posts posted one after another and I wonder why they do this..
We really need to achieve a good balance between posting and commenting/responding to do well here.
How many discussions do you post in a day?

I rarely put discussions. This is due to many reasons. The first reason is that I don' t have enough time to do that. But i love to comment to the discussions that do not have responses. And of course to respond to recent posts that's to see who is online at the moment.

I try responding to several posts a day. It doesn't take up a lot of time and is generally appreciated.

@zebra2222 It sure is more appreciated than just starting a string of new discussions. Have a great day/night mylotting.

Having conversations is basically the point, not just post post post.

I sure don't post everyday. And you may have noticed I take a while to respond back to everyone too! I try to get back to everyone "eventually" - my time here is just so limited. But I think it's always good to strive for that balance of posting and commenting - after all, that'd only be fair to everyone too.

@much2say, I am in the same boat right now, my time has been limited, so there is a delay in responding sometimes.

How many I post just varies. I also use the "most recent" tab first to get a better idea of who is online at the moment. Then I go through
the most interesting discussions and decide whether I have anything worth inputting in.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Each person has a way of finding his or her own balance. I generally post, hit people/discussions, then explore and recent.. so I comment on as many posts possible.

I will post two or perhaps three discussions per day. In the old myLot I would do earnings experiments and could tell what worked best for me to earn. I cannot get my head around it any more and basically I am not here for the earnings. I am not positive what I post is even interesting, so I surely would not want to start tons of them and fill the site with drivel.

@GardenGerty We are missing all your experimentation and wisdom I guess in the new mylot. You are right, Its not fun to fill the site up with boring discussions.

I do not post many discussions here. These last three weeks I posted only one discussion.Of course,I read and respond to discussions by others.

@sofssu Yes I think I should post more.Others too must have discussions to read and respond.

@silvermist I read a post yesterday that said just that.. The person complained that he had no more posts to comment on. It would be wonderful if you could write some more.. but at your own pace.

@silvermist that could leave us with very little to comment and help you make some money. Maybe you could increase your posting frequency if you are so inclined to.

@ivyparkgirl I surely do because I only wrote 51 discussions but 5,200 reponses and 5,000 comments.

Sometimes one , sometimes none, I don't really care if people start new topics, it give more options for you to look over and comment if you want to . I just figure, let people do what they want, if they have time to spend here so be it. I only check in once a week if that, too busy lately.

Maybe they're new here & are just too excited sharing their thoughts. He! He! He! Re, me. Much as I want to write at least 1 discussion in a day, I just can't. It's not that I am not inspired to write. I just can't write at times. It's ok. I still feel ok writing only every now & then.

Whatever is on my mind. But as a general rule, if the same person posts post after post, I glance at them and choose one or two to respond to. A lot of those people are strictly posting to get earnings, and don't have that much interesting to say, although some do manage it.

@sofssu I think so too, but some people either don't get that, or only have a limited time to get their posts in. The ones who really annoy me are the ones who do that and then don't ever respond to other people either on their posts or others.

It is nonsense to post that much if nobody pays attention. Maybe they thought earning here is through writing as many discussions as you can. It is always important to know that interaction is the key to make your day as fruitful as can be here at mylot.

The most that i can is two in a day . That's because i have to be able to comment back first to all in my first one before submitting another one .
Doing it one after another isn't for me . I would be overwhelmed with the notifications considering that i can't be here the whole day , but just once in a while.

it varies for me depending how much I need to do offline - over the weekend I barely posted at all. I try to spread my posts out to give each one time to get readers or my latest contributions would bury the ones before it - many will read only our most recent contributions.

@sofssu very true and then they often quit wondering why no one reads their stuff. They expect an instant flood of reaction and lose patience when they don't get it.

@arthurchappell Absolutely and then they post to complain about the site being quiet.

@arthurchappell As long as you are able to handle the notifications and give sufficient time for people to respond to your post before starting off another discussion it should be fine. some of the new people here seem to have got this whole equation wrong.. they only seem to post and not really interact.

I post the discussions between 2-4 discussion every day. And respond and comment as much as I can. What is the ideal number of discussion posts every day?

@sofssu Okay, thank you. I hope can make balancing between post discussion and post response and comments. Thank you for your suggestion.

@srisahara There is no ideal number, what is important is to give some gap between posts and to be able to interact with others. If you have found your balance and pace here I guess it works well for you.
