Are you prepared for the worst winter on record?

Every year the tabloid press here in the UK run features on how the forth coming winter is going to be "worst winter on record" and scare mongering with their tales of how stretched and unprepared the emergency services are going to be.
It seems to be a recurring feature at this time of year, working everyone up into panic buying tinned soup and hot water bottles.
As it stands, I am prepared for winter - I am prepared for what ever the wind, rain and snow can throw at me. Not because I have taken heed of the fearful warnings in the papers, no. but simply because I like to be prepared!

I've been hearing conflicting reports. Some say it will be a bad winter, others say it will be a mild winter. I guess we'll just deal with whatever comes our way.

The only thing I know about weather is that it doesn't care what we want it to be - it'll be what it'll be.

I notice that every winter they tell us that it's going to be the worst winter .And then now that it's summer coming, they are telling us that it will be the hottest summer and that we need to prepare.. But really, people are always prepared aren't they?

Our winter is predicted to be another warmish, kind of dry one thanks to the El Nino. I am more concerned about the anytime possibility of a major earthquake off the Oregon coast and the problems that will follow.

Every year seems to be the worst winter on record for the past...oh five or so years. I remember 2011 being the first worst winter on record in a long time. To the best of my recollection, pretty much every year.
Best to be prepared for the worst, if it hits us. Make sure to keep the snow blowers gassed up, the snow shovels at ready, make sure the snow boots fit, and make sure the supplies are prepared. If it passes us, I'll throw a party, because I utterly despise snow and cold. If it does....well, at least I'm prepared.

I always have extra supplies on hand for winter but am not alarmed by the forecasters and their doom and gloom forecasts
