Watching My Little Cousins

My cousin asked me to watch her two children for a couple of hours while she visited her sister in Aurora. Her sister is there for awhile because they have her on suicide watch. It is sad that so many people are hurting and feel helpless with life. While it appears that people are happy, and enjoying life sometimes they feel hopeless.
My husband and I went and picked up the children (ages 5 & 7) and took them to MacDonald's for dinner and to let them play on the playground.
We enjoyed visiting with the kids. We had not seen them in awhile because I have so much going on in my life right now. We use to keep the children almost daily. It was good to see the children again.

It was fun to spend time with the children again. It was a short time, but it was nice to see them. I just wished the situation was different. i feel so bad for everyone involved.

@slund2041 Yes, I followed it. That is a very sad situation. I hope she's getting some help - counseling, or something.

@JudyEv My mother had three children, and none of us has gave her grandchildren. I think she is fine with it now, but I remember when she wanted grandchildren bad. I have gave her a grand-kitty, and my brother has gave her a grand-dog.
My husband has two granddaughters but we never get to see them.

@slund2041 We will not be having grandchildren so we enjoy interacting with our grand-nieces and nephews.

It does seem like a lot of people are having a lot of depressing happening to them right now. I think people are feeling the money crunch bad right now. Hopefully 2016 will be a better year for everyone.

I do miss them. I was suppose to kept them all summer long, but my mother was sudden sick and took care of her. She was having terrible seizures.

I hope everything works out for her sister, Stacey! I am sure she was very grateful you would/could watch her children while she was busy!
Uhm... just curious, but Aurora... Where? I know there are Aurora's in several states, but that strikes close to home for me, ma'am... I live in Missouri.

Despite the sad reason, I am glad that you are able to take care of the kids and see them again.

We did have a good time with the kids. They are such sweet children, and have been through so much in their short life. There parents divorce will be final mid December. I hate that it is happening right before Christmas. It seems like both parents have someone else now. You know all of that is hard on the children.
It is actually the kids dad that is my cousin. The kids and their mom moved in with their mom's sister. She is the one who tried to kill herself and now in Aurora. So much for those babies to deal with.

@slund2041 - I hate it when kids have to suffer because of their parents. There is so much pain in the world.

@DeborahDiane I often wonder if the children's parents gave them any though when they thought it was a good idea to divorce.

I think her sister has been under too much stress, and cannot deal with everything in her life.
