Obviously the nature will behave cruelly

India

Today morning at least 8 people of a single family died in a landslide in our state here in India. Our state is a hilly state and we see many incidents as such on a regular basis. There has been a lot of deforestation recently for building shopping complex and other development works. No one is really concerned about the future. There was a time when tourists used to come to Northeast-India to witness the bio diversity. But we human beings are even ruining our nature. So of course the nature will behave cruelly. I would like to ask all my friends here on mylot what is the best way to bring awareness about nature. What steps a person like me can take to protect our nature so that this kind of incidents don't happen

Im sorry to hear that as im also from NE and we should aware people to protect our forest and stop cutting trees as trees will hold soil firmly and prevent landslides and floods too.

@workguddu Very good suggestion and I feel it is the best time to start this initiative. We cannot only depend on Government for some this. We have to start some campaigns.

You need to get a group together with your government and find ways to save the natural world you live in. You could start with your friends and neighbors or join an organization that is already working on that very thing in your country.

@PainsOnSlate Thanks for your suggestion. We have to start this as soon as possible. Otherwise it will be very difficult to save our ecology..

very sorry to hear to this and where is this happened exact place? I have seen in the television news that near Himalayas due to snow / fog it was happened. We can't say anything about the situation of the nature, it always changes, and better in hill place there should not be big shopping complexes.
