Notifications stats are a little misleading.

When the notifications tells me I have 67 communications, it can be misleading as if two or more replies come in to one article they are still treated as one notification, though they could be several more.
Also, when there are more than three interactions to an article three of them are named but then others are just given as a number (and four others). I then have to scroll round the replies looking for which are the new interactions, which may not be conveniently one below the other. Those ‘67’ notifications could really be ‘75’ or more.

I get that too---separate notifications if someone replies AND mentions me.
But I keep the mention-notifications 'turned on' (in "settings," you can change it so that you don't get those notifications) just in case someone mentions me in a discussion I'm not a part-of yet.

I don't mind as it lets us get through the notifications quicker

@arthurchappell Do you know that you can personalize which communications you want to receive in your "settings"?

I often find that there are less than the number claimed. If someone comments and mentions my name I get a notification for the comment and the mention.
I did consider disabling one of those notifications, but that would simply result in missing some.

@arthurchappell I do similar when these notifications appear, but the list can be deceiving initially.

@arthurchappell I did look at various ways of filtering the notifications, but soon came to the conclusion that this scenario simply cannot be avoided without losing some notifications altogether.

@Asylum yes it isn't always easy to interpret the data.

yeah, I have noticed this, I hate when it groups several under 1 notification, and I hate getting two for the same comment.

Many a times, you need to scroll your discussions to see if there is any new response. Notifications do not specify all users names who have responded to our discussions. I keep checking my own discussions, irrespective of notifications to see, if there is any new response or comment to my discussion and if I find something, I immediately post my comments.

I can do that when they come in while I am online. It's the landslides full that come when away from my keyboard that get difficult to clear

@arthurchappell - Yes, I fully agree with you that problem aggravates when we remain active for a day or two or for many number of hours.

Sometimes what I do is just open the discussion first, reply to all the responds/comments there and remove all notifications regarding that post from the list.

Even more than that I find it can be difficult remembering to scroll down the whole page of responses to make sure we've not missed anything at the bottom. I've been finding that when I reply to a response, it will move that response higher in the list, so most of the un-replied to responses will be found toward the bottom of the discussion. Every once in a while, though, they are really mixed up.

I've noticed the same thing. Mentions and Responses usually refer to the same response.

I can relate to this. I am kind of new and it isso hard for me to find every comment, every notification and I hate missing anyone. I feel if they are nice enough to comment on something I have said, done or posted, I really want to read their discussions and suggestions and posts also and comment, I am always missing so much. But I am learning, Have a great day.

@tuttiharris you are doing fine - it'll get impossible to respond to everything but don't worry about it

I'm on a bit of a slight disadvantage because my connection is so slow, so the way the notifications come in, I sometimes miss things...but knowing that you miss something and being able to fix it is better then never realizing that you missed something. So, all in all I'm more pleased with the notifications system here then at other places.

it is better to have too much traffic than hardly any

I too may have missed out on attending to responses/comments as it is difficult to check each and every activity.

It looks to me like I am getting three notifications for every comment someone leaves me.

Yeah the numbers are never 100 percent accurate
