Whether You Call it Soda or Pop, It is Still a Weight Gain!

I learned this in my nutrition class this week, although I always expected something similar!
2 sodas/day = 300 cals. Multiply this by 1 yr (365) = 109,500.
Each pound of fat = 3500 cals. Expect a gain of 31 lbs!
I used to be a Dr Pepper fiend, but it could not be bottled and could not be canned, always fountain. And I always told people the most I would drink is one/day. But in reality, if I went to a gas station/convenience store, I would buy a 32 oz Dr. Pepper. That is 4 cups/day!
Since I have given it up, I tried one a couple of weeks ago and found it too sweet. So it is safe to say, I must have detoxed myself off of pop!
Do you drink a lot of soda pop?

I am thankful to say that I donĀ“t like sodas. I love so many other foods and beverages that mean more calories!
I am trying to eat more veggies, but I confess I prefer a veggie stir fry. Fat and carbs are something that I must stay away from, more than sweets.

Usually I don't like sweets too much, except an occasional candy bar. My downfall is rich foods, sauces and gravies! I think stir fry is ok. Try to use monunsaturated fats. If you use polyunsaturated fats, try to take in lots of antioxidants!

@marguicha Oh I am crazy about cheese. Unfortunately, so does my dog. I have to sneak eat it!

@birjudanak There's a classic classroom experiment of putting a tooth (volunteered by a child who loses one naturally) into a jar with coke and watching it dissolve. Many mechanics use it to clean their greasy tool, too.

we call it softdrink. i've always liked coke classic and mountain dew, if available, then sprite, if i'm feeling virtuous. but it's only about thrice a month and just 8 to 12 oz each time.

In Ohio, we call it pop. When I moved to NC, it's called soda. It was pointed out to me more than once, we don't call it pop down here!

I seldom have soft drinks, but that does not mean I do not have added sugar in my diet.
I enjoy coffee with sugar and milk.
It is equally bad.
Sometimes I like to have ice cream, chocolate, and fruits. Even though fruits are healthy food, the sugar content is still high.

I have it after a meal of pizza or noodles. It's summer here, so I enjoy it every now and then. I believe that soda after a heavy meal help in the digestion.
