When I was in So Cal, my cousin talked me into joining a gym with her. We went and worked out and did yoga classes together. We did that for several years, and then I hurt my back. Shortly after that, I moved up here, and I really just stretched and walked. Got my back fixed, and continued stretching and walking. But the last couple years, I have really slacked. Tony's been talking gym for a while now, and he finally signed up and got me a 7 day pass. Did my first workout today, 20 minutes on an elliptical, and a bunch of weight machines. Oy, am I out of shape. But you have to start somewhere. Next year this time we can do that waterfall hike again and not almost die.

I like to watch gymnastics on TV. :-D
But as far as workouts, I was fine with walking and stretching. I just wasn't doing enough of it.

Good for you. Getting exercise is important. Because the weather here is not that great most of the year, I have been walking in the house and not getting outside and running. I walk over 50 miles a week which seems to do a lot of good. I also do pushups and some weight training 3 days a week.

Hiking is good. It's probably my main form of exercise. That and cycling, which I'm going to do as soon as I get one more progress note written. Keep taking baby steps. A little more each day. Don't throw your back out, for goodness sake!
