One Huge Tip For Higher Earnings

Hey myLotters!
As a lot of you know, I'm the bug guy. I'm definitely an introvert and don't post much. I like reading what others post and chime in when there's a bug that requires my attention, but otherwise I just stick to writing code and helping make sure myLot is running smooth.
Anyway....... Today is payday and I'm well caffeinated, so I thought this was as good a time as any to share a big tip.
Now, it's not a great idea to try and dissect the earnings algorithm, because that can lead to gaming the system which is bad. But here's an exception that's win-win for everybody...
Ever notice those newer members or perhaps members that aren't so new, but don't post a lot? Interact with them!!
All positive interaction is rewarded in the earnings algorithm, but positive interaction with these newer, less-active members is rewarded just a little bit more.
Why? A greater number of active members is good for everybody and helps us earn more $$ from the advertisers, which means more $$ available to pay to you.
Don't overthink it. There aren't huge windfalls to be gained by interacting with newer and less-active members.
But stop by the New User and the No Response "Explore" pages every once in awhile. Find a discussion with only a couple responses and liven it up. Reach out to that member with a lower post-count and participate in his/her discussions. Follow somebody who might be having a hard time getting started.... Etc. etc.
Happy payday!

I have actually been doing that, but thanks for reminding everybody - after all we were all new once and were grateful when anybody noticed us.
i don't know if you are one of those to thank, but thank you anyway for paying so promptly, even earlier than you said in the TOS.

Maybe you earn a little more for that particular interaction but those people have a higher risk of never coming back to visit your posts and getting their accounts deleted for cheating. I'd rather stick with people with a bit of history.

@slund2041 your stats already show 361 - so plenty of interaction. Many people turn up and place 12 posts and have stats that say 12 - so we know they don't read anybody else and that the 12 posts probably aren't compliant with the rules.

I think in the very beginning the site called those discussions "stumpers" or something like that and did reward more for them. Then quit. I like New User and No Responce better as names and it is a good idea to befriend others.

@gardengerty good to know they changed it. i would rather be 'thumper' than a 'stumper'

You are so right @GardenGerty. I am pretty new here and if it wasn't for everyone that helped me along the way I wouldn't be as active as I am.

Now this is awesome. This is what a site is supposed to do. I love it here in MyLot. I just saw my payment and I am excited. I always knew that MyLot was special. I am so glad you original owners are back at the helm here. This is my new home once again.
