I Want to Stop Being an Adult!

Losing a driver's license has been the worst growing pain! During my move from Korea, I left my wallet that had my driver's license in it. Luckily my ID that I need for my job stayed with me.
However, trying to replace it has been one miniature circus after the other. I found out that you HAVE to have your birth certificate, something that was lost during the original move to Korea.
Got in contact with the birth certificate record department at the state that I was born and found out that I have to request the records through another agency. Round and round we go...
I miss the times when the hardest decision I had was what coloring pencil I would use!

I remember when my kids used to make blanket forts and I also remember myself making a blanket for on my bed. Those were the carefree days weren't they?

That's bureaucracy for you, I guard those docs with my life as once I've been inconvenienced.

lol Ever had to replace a social security card? Those people have a really hard time deciding what documents they accept and what they don't.
I hope you get everything settled.
Coloring pencils actually seems like a great idea at the moment.

@Kazemononoke That's exactly why I had to get a new ss card. They wouldn't even look at my birth certificate. The marriage certificate wasn't enough for them either. They wanted us to go to my high school and get a transcript of my grades. I think they were really trying to see what a slacker I was in school.

Ha ha ha. For real. To top it off I am in the middle of changing my name from when I got married. So my ID is different than my birth certificate.

We had actually considered just buying camping gear and living at campgrounds to get ahead until we are out of debt.

@Kazemononoke (161), it is not that hard to replace your license here where I am. I lost mine last year, and all I had to do was go on line, fill out a form, send in my money, and they sent it right to me in about two weeks. I am glad I did not have to go through all you had to go through, Or I might have given up driving. :: smiles::: Hope you get them soon.

I hope you can get things sorted soon, that sounds extreemly stressful-I've had to help people with documents before when they were lost...I always felt really bad for them, sometimes it would be so stressful people would break down over it:(

I honestly never thought about it. I don't like testing in my area though. I'm really horrible about parallel parking and not sure how well I would fare if that is a prerequisite here.

I think it is due to so many people getting their identities stolen. I have no idea how it happens with trying to jump through all these loops.

@Kazemononoke That is a great idea. Having copies is always the best way to go.

I'm going to definitely keep duplicates of EVERYTHING once I get this sorted out. Will definitely teach my kids about this too.

I am a senior in high school and I can say I get problems each day ! For every one of us life is like a shot. If you guess it, it's yours,. If you are not, it's not. We have to use that we have the hardest tasks since we've borned. Cheer up and continue your existance like it really is because you are a very strong woman!

i agree with you completely on the missing-of-being-a-child! adulthood is overrated.

Oh you poor thing, dealing with bureaucracies is so time consuming and expensive.
